CHAPTER VI

To all my friends who motivated me to start writing again💕

I was awestruck when I looked around at the palace. It all felt so magical , as if I was living a dream. Huge chandeliers hung from the ceiling and the walls were covered with mesmerising golden prints and uncountable number of portraits of queens and kings.

The place was busy with people who were moving around,  I couldn't guess if they were vampires or humans, but anyone who passed by us bowed down to Ian and looked at me for a little longer than I was comfortable with. People stopped whatever they were doing and stared at us.

Yeah now I was definitely getting high school flashbacks.

Soon there were whispers all around me , people looked at me with confusion clear on their faces and as for me , I was always bad at managing this unwanted attention. I started to get nervous , playing with my fingers , yeah not playing , crushing them. All this was making me highly uncomfortable and Ian seemed to notice that.

"Everyone back to work" He said authoritively and people did stop all the staring and went back to what they were doing before.  Well he must be a important person round here.

"I'll guide you upstairs to a room where you may get comfortable for now , your friend Caesy will be joining you shortly." He said turning back to me.

"Uh ah alright" was all I managed to speak .

We walked up the huge staircase which was padded with red velvet and the silver handles which had intricate carvings on them. I didn't even feel like I was worthy of touching anything here. Everything looked way too exquisite for a simple girl like me.

This whole place was so huge that it would take me atleast a month to learn all the routes around here , that was if I made it for that much time.

By the time we reached the room which I was to make my acquaintance in , we had taken atleats 7 turns each of which I was trying to memorise.

Ian opened the door by looking straight into the peephole , which I guess was a lock of some kind. He gestured me to get inside

As I soon as I entered the room , I knew my eyes were shining with the vibrancy this room was pouring out. I could spend an entire day here and still wouldn't be able to take in each detail. At times like this I felt the urge to get my sketchbook and transfer the beauty in front of my eyes into a piece of paper ,a simple power that only an artist holds .

I don't know how absorbed I was in admiring the beauty of this place until I noticed that I didn't even get to know when Ian had left.

I was alone now, in a place I had no idea about , with creatures who were thirsting for a drop of my blood but all I could think about now at this moment was how much existed in this world , we knew nothing about.

It indeed had been a long day and I was so exhausted from the entire day's events that I fell asleep as soon as my body touched the mattress.
