The Kiss of Death

CHAPTER X

I had never felt so restless in my entire life . Nor when I was surrounded by completely foreign blood sucking creatures neither when one of them was trying to kiss me .

But right now , I could feel my heart beating in my chest , like it was going to explode at any moment. I continued digging through all the mess in hopes of finding what I had been looking for - my locket.

The supposed staff looked at me with confusion clear on their faces. They wanted to say something but couldn't really form words. It was clear on their faces though , they wanted me to get the hell put of here so they could do their work.

I sat there, absolutely still . I wasn't going to move from here until and unless I had found my locket.

Then finally one of them said something, "Ma'am kindly come outside , we've been instructed to lead you to another room while we take care of this one"

"No" I said plainly. Well that sounded rude. The boy also looked at me with suprise , he obviously didn't expect this kind of response.

"I mean I've lost my locket somewhere here, I'm not going anywhere without it" I continued.

"Well we'll surely find it and bring it to you as soon as possible. But unless you leave this room we wouldn't be able to clear this place nor be able to find your locket therefore I request you to kindly make your acquaintance in another room and wait for us to clear things up here."

Okay that didn't sound so bad. They had a better chance of finding it than me so I decided to calm myself down for once and wait for them to find it  which they obviously would.

"Okay , but that locket really means a lot to me. I hope you really mean what you're saying right now." I looked back at him , he had a name tag which said ' Marcus'. "-Marcus" I added .

"Of course I do " He replied with a reassuring smile. 

I gave him a weak smile back. I had no choice except for trusting these people , it was of course the better choice. There was no way I could find it on my own.

I headed out of the room along with Caesy and waited for someone who'd escort us to another place . A young lady followed us out and then led us to another room.

This was one was fairly smaller,  but equally beautiful. Everything resembled the room we were in before.

"Kindly let us know if you need anything" She said and then closed the door , leaving behind a ton lot of silence.

I looked at Caesy, she was looking at me sympathetically ,I knew what she was thinking . I was going to definitely cry , all of this felt too heavy to carry on for so long and on top of it all I had lost the only thing that , that tha- . Okay I need to stop. I'm overreacting, it is probably just buried under all that stuff and they would find it very easily and then Marcus , as he promised , would bring it back to me.

I took a deep breath and searched my pockets for the pencil that I carried everywhere and I found it. Thank God it was there.

I sat down on the desk and started drawing on the few papers that lay there. I didn't really know what I was drawing , I just kept sketching and poured it all out on the paper.

After an hour or so , when I could feel the slight ache in my fingers , I stopped and looked at the paper.

Of course I knew what I was drawing.  It was my locket.
