He stood there , absolutely still and just stared at me as if he trying to put something together.
Not a single movement.
Neither did I have the courage to say something.
The air around was getting too thick to breathe in.
Damn it. What do I say.
"Ian I didn't mean for this to-" I had just begun to justify myself when he cut me off.
"What is your name?" He asked , his voice low.
"What do you mean?" I asked , suprised by this absurd question.
"JUST TELL ME DAMN YOUR NAME" He said , holding me firmly in my place. It was not fury he had in his eyes.
It was desperation.
"Laura" I replied.
"Your full name" He asked me again.
"Laura Allohna" I told him , trying to keep myself together under his hardening grasp on me.
He moved back the minute I replied to him. His eyes wide enough as if he had seen something he shouldn't have, heard something that wasn't possible.
He was trying to form words , I could very clearly see that but nothing came out.
I couldn't bear with all these mysteries and secrets and moreover a feather had just disappeared within me.
I needed answers!
"Would you tell me what the hell just happened." I said , my voice came out a little higher than I had intended it to be.
"Shall I?" came a voice from behind me.
I turned around to see Paul sitting on the couch, with a rather amused expression on his face.
He couldn't be awake so soon, if what Ian had told me was true then the vervain would have caused him to fall into a deep slumber of atleast a couple of hours.
Until of course he never actually drank it.
Then it hit me , he was just pretending the entire time. But why?
"I know what the two of you are thinking" He said trying to maintain the calmest of postures , " I never really drank the blood you know , I'd already found the cork of the vervain bottle lying just about here, but of course I had to find out what you were up to so I let things go your way. But I sure as hell can call this an interesting turn of events." He said as he moved towards his brother.
I was just frozen on my place , I was afraid of what would happen next.
"I'd always expected this kind of thing from you Ian but you , Laura ,I never thought you'd side with him , the person who was ready to kill you the first time he met you , to betray me this way." I could see his façade fade as he was speaking, the sadness was becoming more clearer on his face but it was gone as soon as it came.
"Paul I didn't-" I had just began to justify my actions when he cut me off.
"Now's not the time for this. There's something more important you should know right now." Paul said turning around to face me.
"What is going on?What is all this about? The mystery feather that disappeared into me?" I said with all the fear that was within me pouring out through my words.
"Of course that , and a couple of more things. " He replied.
He was scaring me.
"What is it?" I asked my voice now shaking.
"The thing Laura is that you're a huntress, someone who's born to end vampires." He replied looking me straight in the eye.
What. The. Hell.
