Eight Days Later, October 28th

I didn't know why I was still mentally keeping track of the date, to be honest. Maybe it had just become habit, for me; or maybe it was just because there were only so many times one could flip through the channels on the hospital television before you got bored out of my mind. There were several things on my mind, if I was being honest.

Number one: Tanya Rodriguez. After I'd managed to wake up, and therefore expose her to the Evans family, they had reported her to the police, who were now keeping a lookout for her at any abortion clinics. Ethan hadn't really said anything much about the baby, which was part two of what concerned me.

So, number two: I didn't know Ethan that well. He had been my foster brother, sure, and I had saved his life, or so I'd been told. I didn't like to take the credit for that, still insisting that anybody else in my position would've done the same thing. Dylan never let me finish that sentence. I knew he liked football, but more than anything, I remembered how he was with Aurora, his best friend's baby. Dylan had admitted to me that he'd been spending more and more time at Dylan's house, even after everything that had happened. In fact, as long as Dylan made sure that Ethan hadn't brought any drugs or liquor into the house with him (his own house had been cleared of all of that, prior to the evaluation, which seemed so long ago) Ethan was allowed around Aurora, who didn't seem to mind.

But to his dads, who had been chatting with Dylan about him, Ethan hadn't said anything. I figured he was probably embarrassed.

He hadn't said anything to me, either, or to Evie. I was expecting him not to say anything to me; after all, now he knew that he'd been the cause of our accident. But Evie was deeply hurt by Ethan, who only seemed to be ripping their twin bond further apart.

Moving on, number three was Halloween Fest. I was not allowed to go, which Evie was disappointed about, but she understood why. I mean, I was paralyzed and still getting used to moving around my upper body, let alone working a wheelchair in a crowded room. My friends had tried to stay with me, even Violet (who was super excited about her sexy nurse costume) but I insisted that they go and have fun. Evie had also confided in me that she planned on finally having her second first time with Ty on the night of Halloween Fest; personally, I would've chosen a more private place and a more romantic time, but Evie insisted that if they just went up to Ty's bedroom, then it would be very private and very romantic.

Evie and Ty had gotten into an argument because he'd invited Tanya, part of a plan to lure her into the party atmosphere, except Evie didn't want her anywhere around. "She's probably dressed up like a stripper or something," she ranted to me. "And I worked so hard, too!"

In order to make sure I still had a fun Halloween, Evie and Dylan decorated my hospital room with fake pumpkins, orange and black streamers, and Dylan even brought little Aurora, in her Halloween costumes. When I held her, Evie immediately snapped a picture of the three of us and grinned. "Yep, that's going in the family scrapbook."

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Oh, nothing, nothing..."

Nine Days Later, October 29th

"Tanya showed up at school today," Evie twisted her face into a disgusted expression, and I laughed. Dylan wasn't here; Aurora had a doctor's appointment, and he'd agreed to take her. "Sauntered right up to Ethan, and do you know what he said?"

My voice had been getting slightly better, especially since Nurse Rosie (despite her bluntness) had told me that with practice, the pain would disappear, so I'd been practicing. "I thought Tanya was expelled."

"Suspended," huffed Evie. "Can you believe that? Anyway, guess what Ethan said."

"What?"

"He told her to come over after school, because he wanted to talk," Evie hissed. "So obviously, I'm here." She pouted. "Dammit, Halloween Fest is in two days, and Tanya might show up, and I'm fighting with my boyfriend, and I have to transport three foster girls to a party, and one of them is fifteen years old and wearing a slutty nurse costume..."
