Andrew doesn't try to hide his disappointment. Arabelle is putting her life at risk again, messing with the very same people who kidnapped her once before. He sighs and looks at his shorty intensely. Arabelle puts on her best cute face and Andrew can't help but give in.
“I just don't understand why you're just so keen on gittin invloved with everything shorty. It ain't even your job, you're not a damn cop. I worry 'bout you shorty,” he says pouring his heart out. Arabelle can't help but feel touched at Andrew's words. Andrew rarely ever speaks about his feelings so every time that he does, she can't help but feel warm on the insides.
Arabelle gets up from where she's sitting and sees on Andrew's lap, lightly stroking his cheek. He shuts his eyes momentarily, enjoying the ticklish feeling then holds Arabelle's gaze.
“I promise I won't get into trouble. All we're going to do is hand the evidence over to Smith's lawyer and that's it,” she says softly, batting her eyelashes. Andrew sighs in defeat. “Shorty I can't always be here you know? I'm busy with the championship and all that, gets if one night I come back home from training and you're not here?” he questions and she looks down sadly.
“You're right but I can't just act like there's not an injustice going on. This is my whole point of aspiring to be a lawyer since I was so little. Now that I've made it this far, I need to do all that I've wished for,” she says, now playing with his fingers.
Andrew sighs once more.
“I'm not saying you should turn a blind eye shorty, I just want you to give the evidence you have to Daehyun Smith and let him take care of his own family matters,” Andrew mumbles and Arabelle chuckles at his cuteness.
“Well he's the one that asked for my help. Sarah told him that I'd know what to do and Trevor won't even know that it's us baby,” Arabelle persuades.
“Well I guess they ain't no changing your mind shorty. Just be careful, and tell me everything you're planning. Don't wait to tell me once you've already done something, like you're doing now,” Andrew says and Arabelle smiles shyly. She indeed withheld it from him intentionally.
“Okay. I promise,” she says and he playfully winks at her.
Arabelle quickly gets on her feet and rushes upstairs to their bedroom. She quickly rummages through her purse and digs out the business card that Daehyun gave to her to contact his father's lawyer.
Kylie Porter.
Arabelle's eyebrows rise in surprise. She was not expecting a female lawyer for a rich man like Smith. She was expecting another Gilmore. This is a good sign, because women aren't easy to corrupt. Hopefully she's nice enough to give her a chance and listen to what she has to say, without focusing on the fact that a newbie is trying to tell her how to do her job.
She grabs her phone from the bedside lamp and dials the woman's number. It rings a total of four times before she picks up.
“Hello,” the woman answers in a formal tone.
“Hello. Hi. My name is Arabelle, I work at Hillside Attorneys but I'm calling because of the Smith case, I heard that you're the one in charge?” she questions and the woman is silent for a moment.
“Uh yes I am. How can I help you miss?” she questions. Arabelle sits on the edge of the bed, phone still in hand.
“Well, I'm the one that was kidnapped by Smith and Trevor. My cousin is working at a law firm with the same lawyer that is representing Trevor. She has found out some serious information that we would like for you to go through and use in the trial,” Arabelle explains and waits for the woman's response.
