30. Reunion

Zhan's POV

The other side had gone silent, she didn't say a word after hearing my voice.

She must be very mad at me and I get why, I have hurt her a lot but I am ready to apologize, I am ready to beg her for forgiveness.

"We..Wen Qing, it's me Zhan...your Zhan... I...I..."I couldn't hold back and in the end, I cried, "W..Wen Qing me Zhan, your Zhan your friend, I...I am sorry, I am so sorry, Wen, Qing please...I...I need you to please, please."

"Z...Zhan" I heard her voice, my name from her mouth, I could hear the pain, I know her well enough to know that she was holding back, holding back from breaking down too.

"W...Wen Qing... I am here in front of my house, I am...I am really sorry..."

"Okay...j..just stay there, Zhan just stay there I'll be there soon." She said and hung up the phone.

Yanli was by my side the whole time and I am really grateful for that, otherwise, god knows how I would have handled the situation.

I know Wen Qing will be here and I feel nervous to face her. 

Yanli wiped my face and game some water to drink while I sat on the ground, my head was pounding and, my eyes were swollen, my throat felts dry as well.

"Zhan" I became alert once I heard Wen Qing's voice.

She paused for a second when she saw me before running to me and hugging me tightly.

I hugged her back and cried bitterly, I could hear her silent sobs, as well as we, hugged each other.

"I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry," I chanted like a mantra.

"Shhhh" she said and broke the hug she wiped my face and shushed me again and again.

"It's okay Zhan, it's okay I am glad you are back, I am so glad." Tears spilled from her eyes," Nothing matters now, you are back right? now everything will be okay."

"You are right...I am back, I am really back."

She wiped her face and tried her best to smile, "It's okay, we..um..should go to my home, okay? we have a lot to catch up on."

I smiled as well, "Yeah right we have a lot to catch up on."

Wen Qing then looked at Yanli who was standing there with a smile on her face.

"Who are you?" She asked

"She helped me get here and contact you."

Wen Qing nodded, "Thank you for helping him."

Yanli smiled,"It's alright, I am happy to help I just couldn't leave him alone, in this state."

Wen Qing nodded, "I will take care from here, but thanks a lot once again."

Yanli nodded, "Alright then I will then, leave Zhan if you need my help then I am just a phone call away."

I nodded at her, I will always be grateful to her for all the support she has shown me.

Wen Qing smiled at me and raised her hand forwards, I took her hand and walked towards her car.

Once we reached her home. She straight away asked me.

"Where were you Zhan..all these days everybody has been looking for you the company is a mess as well."

I sighed, "I had lost my memory." I told her.

"That day when my parents died I had heard Yibo talking on the phone that how he..." I stopped. "When I confronted him he had told me that everything was a lie...everything from the beginning to the end was a pretense.

He just wanted to get close to me to destroy my family, and he succeeded thanks to me."

I took a deep breath, " After hearing all that he made an offer that he wanted me to stay with him which was very bold of him to assume that I will agree, I refused and ran away but he already messed up with my car.

That's why I ran all the way to my home because I wanted to see my parents but I was too late, I saw my house burning when I reached home, I wanted to call you but he shot me and when I fell on the ground my head collided with the rock and due to the head injury I had lost my memory

All these days I was living with that man, who ruined me can you imagine?"

Wen Qing heard everything with a firm face, her hands were clenched into fists, as she glared at the ground.

In the end, she sighed, "Are you okay now?"

I nodded.

"Then can you go back to work?"

"Yes...I have to go back to work...how is everyone doing by the way?"

"At first the company was in turmoil but recently it came back on track...I don't know much since I..." She passed and I know why, she used to work in the company with me but it was me who fired her, guilt-filled my heart making it hard to breathe.

Guess this is karma.

"I'll go and arrange your room for you."

I leaned back on my seat once Wen Qing was gone, I sighed and just stared at the ceiling.
