35.Lie

"W...what?" 

Wen Qing, took a deep breath, "Zhan your parents were good friends with my parents, my parents were mages and so am I, and so were your parents."

"Then how come I..."

"We don't know, no one knows why you were isolated and never allowed to follow the mage community, your parents kept you away from all the other, mages except me because I was the daughter of their good friends.

They also never taught you anything about the supernaturals and had presented you as a normal human they even send you abroad and didn't introduce you to the world until a certain age

For years I had these questions, why did they do this? why are they doing this?

I had always thought that loved you too much and wanted you to remain close to them but with time I realized that there something else, maybe they were hiding you from something to someone, but why would they?" 

She asked me, she wanted me to think about this she wanted to understand why because she can't bring herself to say it, she can't bring herself to say that I have been living a life of lie.

My childhood, my parents, my love, my everything is a lie, my whole reality is a lie.

My eyes filled with tears and I felt that the ground under me had vanished, I tried to stand up but stumbled backward, I couldn't fathom the fact, that my parents who were idols, my world were...

"Zhan," Wen Qing said with worry.

W..Wen Qing" I said with a shivering voice, "What you said...does it mean...that...that I am...adopted?

Wen Qing didn't say anything and hugged me, her actions confirmed my fear.

I took a deep breath and wiped my tears I was dine crying I am not going to cry anymore, I am done crying. 

I stood up and walked into the room where Kexing was sleeping,

"Zhan, what are you doing?" Wen Qing said but I didn't reply I went straight to Kexing and plucked his hair and gently as I could I didn't want to interrupt his peaceful sleep.

"Zhan!!"

"I am going to give this for a DNA test, if he is really my brother, then I am sure he can answer my question."

Wen Qing nodded.

"Meanwhile A-qing can you tell me more about our parents."

"Alright."

"As far as I know our parents followed a cult, especially for mages, like all the mages would gather and worship a deity, exchange knowledge it was a harmonious cult and all.

Our parents were their followers as well, but one day, your parents suddenly quit the cult and distanced themselves from the community, my parents tried their best to know what happened but your parents wouldn't say anything at first 

But one day they did tell my parents everything and my parents quit the cult as well, what your parents told my parents is still a secret."

"Do you know the name of the church?"

"That church has been in the news nowadays, have you heard the church of Zion?"

"The same church which as related to the recent murders?"

"Yeah, that's all I know my parents and your parents never allowed us to go anywhere near that church."

"I see."
