Brave New World: Flash

Chapter 14

All of Central City was stunned as streaks of red and yellow lightning surged through their city at super speeds as the Flash, Kid Flash and Jesse Quick continued their hot pursuit of the Flash.

"You really think you can get away from me." Flash shouted to his rival as they raced after each other.

"You'll never catch me Flash. No matter what you do, no matter how fast you get, you'll never be able to defeat me." Reverse Flash said, only to find himself on the receiving end of Kid Flash's fists, sending him flying backwards until he landed right in front of CCPD.

"I should've seen that coming." Reverse Flash said as the police came rushing out, just in time to see the man in yellow that Barry had always claimed killed his mother right in front of them.

"Allen was telling the truth." Singh said, now knowing that they had to let his father go.

"You always think you're one step ahead. If you really were, you would've known that I would find a way to restore my powers. You should've killed me when you had the chance, when I was weakened." Flash said to his archrival.

"Well, there's no time like the present to make up for past mistakes." Reverse Flash said as red lightning coursed around him.

"Get the bystanders out of here. This is between me and him." Flash said to Kid Flash and Jesse Quick, who both nodded before speeding everyone out of the area while the Flash and Reverse Flash circled each other, yellow and red lightning coursing off of them respectively.

"You really think that you can beat me Barry?" Reverse Flash asked.

"You said it yourself, neither of us was ever strong enough to defeat the other. We're locked in a circle of fighting. You and I both know that this war between us, it'll never truly end." Flash said.

"Fair enough. So, shall we continue it?" Reverse Flash asked with a grin.

"One request first." Flash said.

"And what might that be?" Reverse Flash asked.

"Lose the fake face. I'm done fighting Harrison Wells. I want to see the real face of my enemy." Flash said.

"Of course. I have to admit, even I've gotten a bit tired of wearing someone else's face." Reverse Flash said as Flash could see what little of his face that was exposed by his cowl shift.

"Is this better?" Reverse Flash asked and Flash grinned, since he could tell by the voice that it was no longer a Harrison Wells hiding behind that cowl.

"Finally, the true Reverse Flash revealed. Now, let's do this." Flash said as he and his opposite charged at each other, both of them hurling lightning bolts at the other and dodging them.

"You really think you can beat me alone?" Reverse Flash asked, only to be hit by a fireball as Firestorm flew down from the sky and a breach opened as Vibe and Frost jumped out of it.

"Who said I was alone?" Flash asked with a grin as Kid Flash and Jesse Quick returned, though it appeared that Jesse Quick had picked up a passenger.

"Mind if I join the party?" Elongated Man asked.

"By all means." the Flash said with a grin as they all circled the Reverse Flash.

"Well, this is unexpected, but not unwelcome." Thawne said.

"You know even you can't take all of us at once and you won't dare create time remnants and risk bringing the time wraiths down on your head." Flash said.

"True, but you think I can't take you all at once, well, I'll take those odds." Reverse Flash said as red lightning charged up around him.

"Get back." Flash shouted, recognizing what Thawne was about to do as the whole team managed to get away from him as the Reverse Flash triggered a lightning detonation.
