Entering her dorm room Abilene dropped her bookbag on the floor before dropping down face first onto her bed with a groan.  The fourth day of school and she was already exhausted.

She and Dakota had spent most of the day before keeping close to Chase in an attempt to find out more about him.  Inviting him to dinner at Nicky's they'd tried to get a read on the boy only to come up empty handed.

One night of missed homework had set her back and she'd just spent four hours in the library with Reid attempting to catch up.  She'd also been put in charge of keeping him on track doing homework instead of trying to kiss her all night.  Not an easy thing to accomplish.

Hearing the door open she lifted her head to look over her shoulder greeting Dakota as she stood in the hall outside of the door, "What are you doing?" she asked sitting up on the bed.

"Oh, I thought we could go down to the showers together.  It's late so they should be empty," her friend replied.

Nodding Abilene stood from her bed and began collecting their shared shower caddy and her towel

Nodding Abilene stood from her bed and began collecting their shared shower caddy and her towel.  Furrowing her brow, she glanced at Dakota still hovering by the door, "Are you coming in to get your towel?" she asked.

"Do you mind grabbing it?"

Blinking, Abilene looked at her confused, "Okay," she replied grabbing Dakota's towel and tossing it at her, "You're being weird.  Where have you been?" she asked moving into the corridor with Dakota and shutting their room door, "I haven't seen you since class ended."

"Just around," Dakota answered vaguely.

"Oh, well Reid and I were studying in the library.  I texted you to join us," she said entering the bathroom and hanging her towel on a hook outside one of the shower stalls.

"Yeah, I don't know where my phone is," Dakota responded as they both removed their clothes before entering their shower stalls, "So are you going to bond with Reid?" Dakota asked looking over the low wall separating the stalls.

Placing their shower caddy on the wall between them Abilene chewed on the inside of her cheek in contemplation, "Well don't freak out, but I've been thinking about it," she admitted, "I know it's dangerous, with the possibility of losing my magic not to mention my life, but I just have this feeling we'd be okay. That our souls are meant to be together," she said completely missing the look of anger on Dakota's face as she turned her shower on.

When her friend didn't say anything, Abilene continued, "I mean we were talking about the future last night, and Kota I realized I want it all with him.  Which I know, you don't have to say anything we're so young, but we've loved each other for years.  Besides you there's no one else that knows me like Reid does."

"Well, I'm sure it all work out," Dakota said before twisting the knobs to start her shower.

Glancing over the wall at Dakota, who had her back towards her, Abilene blinked in confusion.  Something was going on with her friend.
