ginny: hey heyme: helloo
ginny: harry told me you found out

ginny: hermione
me: ah yes
ginny: ron told me when he dragged me away haha
me: i figured
ginny: this is stupid to ask but do you like her
me: where did that come from?
me: and no. i only like you
ginny: i just get this weird feeling about her
me: me too
ginny: really?
me: yeah. she seems like the type to give a goodnight kiss to her books before going to bed
ginny: i'm serious
me: i'm sorry. i was just trying to cheer you up
me: what's bothering you about her?
ginny: it's fine & i feel like she has these feelings for you
me: just know that i am laughing right now bc she basically despises me
ginny: i guess. kinda. but still, you know?
me: no i don't
me: sorry i'm just so confused
ginny: why do you think she's been acting all off. she glares at me when we're always together
me: well then that's ridiculous. she shouldn't hate you bc she hates me. she can put all that attention to that slytherin boy
ginny: do you ever think maybe you're oblivious too
me: sometimes but not in this case
ginny: i bet she went on a date with kade to make you jealous
me: she's straight, ginny
me: also where's all this coming from?
ginny: she doesn't know her feelings. i rlly think that's the whole reason she talked to ron
ginny: and because i wanted to know if you would reciprocate those feelings
me: i'm here to give you reassurance. i can come over if you want
ginny: i guess i'm just jealous. i'm not too fond of the idea of sharing you
me: and you don't have to
ginny: ok ok. now come over please

Third person pov
Y/N and Ginny sprawled on couch, with Ginny perched on the edge and Y/N nestled in closer. Y/N tucked one arm under Ginny's head for support, using it as a makeshift pillow, while the other arm wrapped around her waist, drawing her in gently.
Ginny was fast asleep. As soon as they started cuddling, Y/N noticed her breathing change, a gentle rhythm settling in, accompanied by soft snores from her girl.
Y/N tried to sleep, but disappointingly couldn't. Every time she closed her eyes, the familiar face filled her mind, the internal struggle of emptiness and hope intertwining. It was a feeling she couldn't stand.
Staring blankly into the fireplace, Y/N desperately sought a distraction from the conflicting thoughts swirling in her mind.
__"I'm not listening," Hermione said, resting her elbow on the desk, her palm covering her ear as she tilted her head to avoid Ron's gaze while continuing to write.
"Oh, come on! How many times do I have to apologize!" Ron whined, frustration evident in his voice.
Hermione struggled to concentrate. She finally pulled her hand back and met Ron's eyes. "I don't care about that anymore, Ron. I just need to finish this essay, and you're not helping," she said firmly as she stood from her seat.
"A boy! A boy!" A student screamed as she entered, surprised to see Ron, causing Hermione and the redhead to look behind them.
Hermione was well aware of the strict 'no boys allowed' policy for the girls' dormitory. While everyone knew Harry and Ron well enough, they still weren't permitted. She didn't mind. Sometimes she relished the peace and quiet without the boys by her side.
"It's just Ron," Hermione said, giving him a gentle push forward. "But don't worry, we were just about to leave."
"Just Ron, really?" Ron scoffed, attempting to push Hermione's hands away, but she persisted.
"Yes, now shoo. I'll meet you and Harry later," Hermione said, guiding them out and shutting the door behind them.
"Ugh.. fine," Ron sighed, finally surrendering.
"And stop sending me apology letters. I told you I forgive you. Just please don't mention her again," Hermione said, tucking her quill into her pocket while holding her essay paper.
"Deal!"
Hermione watched Ron walk away, seeing him pump his fist in the air in triumph. She shook her head, chuckling softly to herself before turning away.
Rushing down the stairs, Hermione gradually slowed as she caught sight of two figures on the couch in the common room.
She didn't want to interrupt them, so she tried to tread lightly. However, she froze when she spotted a familiar face — the last person she wanted to see.
Hermione's feet wouldn't move. She felt rooted to the spot, unable to bring herself to step forward.
The dim light in the room cast a warm glow on one half of Y/N's face, and Hermione's eyes unconsciously traced her features — the sharpness of her eyes, the way her eyebrows were furrowed. An instinctive shudder ran through Hermione as she registered the tension glistening between them.
The air in the room thickened, and Hermione's vision blurred, focusing solely on Y/N. She could feel the petty arguments replaying in her mind, each one a reminder of what divided them. Desperately, she tried to gather her thoughts, aware that she was often in the wrong during their confrontations, but admitting it felt like defeat.
As she struggled to regain her composure, Y/N shifted slightly, and their eyes locked. In that fleeting moment, Hermione was caught off guard, her heart racing.
Then her gaze shifted, and she noticed Y/N lying next to Ginny. The sight snapped Hermione back to reality, extinguishing the warmth that had begun to bloom in her chest.
She hated how Y/N had this effect on her. Taking a deep breath, Hermione turned away, reminding herself of the reasons this connection wasn't right. As she walked off, an ache settled in her chest — something she couldn't quite identify.
