Chapter Twenty Four

Christmas Day came and went faster than a blink of an eye. It's sad how the most exciting days of the year seem to last the shortest. And before I knew it, New Year's Eve was on its way in just two days.
Now that it's been almost a week since I forgot Finn's birthday and no one has said a word on the group chat (besides Noah), I'm starting to think that this whole 'making up' thing isn't gonna be as easy as I thought.
In fact, Noah tried to start a conversation between us. Trying to fix what happened by acting like everything's normal. He'd ask everyone what they got for Christmas and our plans for the new year.
He texted almost everyday to try and bring us back together.
But nothing worked.
So he gave up. And there hasn't been a single text all day.
But I feel horrible. I mean, yeah Noah has like a billion other friends but he's definitely being affected by not talking to us. I mean this has never happened before.
While I was laying on the couch, phone planted in front of my face, Maya was in the guest room and packing up.
She's leaving after break. In fact, she stayed a little longer than planned.
"Y/n have you seen my toothbrush anywhere? You think it would be the the bathroom but I guess it just grew legs and walked away!" She yelled from the room, and I could hear the frustration and sarcasm in her voice.
I sighed a bit and dropped my phone, calling back at her for the hundredth time.
"No, sorry."
I know how annoying it is to lose your stuff, but I also know how annoying it is to go back and fourth, yelling if you've seen this or that.
I can hear her groan and stomp her footsteps along the hardwoods floor, continuing to search for her things.
I quietly hum to myself and keep scrolling through social media. That is, until a message pops up on my screen.
My eyebrows furrow and I tap on the contact, which leads me to the text.
