-Zayn’s P.O.V.-
I knew that she was going to be back in London today, everyone was. What shall I do? Should I go meet her or should I stop talking to her after what she did? I was sitting in my room, watching some pictures of Izzie and me, the old times that we spent together, the carnival, the roller coaster rides and everything.
“This was the best date ever” I laughed as I saw the picture of her sitting on the beach side, creating her own castle. The melancholy feeling I was getting consisted of love, affection and betrayal in a mixture, but I wasn’t regretting anything. The kiss was all that I was lamenting right now.
“Zayn?” mom called for me from the living room “come here love” she said being all cheesy. I didn’t know why she labeled me as love. It wasn’t that she was my girl friend or anything, though it sounded cute at times.
My sisters and dad had gone out of town to meet our grandparents, so it was just mom and me in the house for some days. Mom had some community jamborees to attend while I, well I just didn’t want to go. Maybe I was not ready for the gatherings right now, I wanted to be alone.
“Yes mom? Do you want something?” I asked.
“See love,” there it comes again “I just wanted you to return this recipe book I got from Mrs. Stevens. Would you?” she requested.
What? Mrs. Stevens? No no no no, I wasn’t going there. What if Izzie was back? What if she asks me about our relationship? I wasn’t going to her house, yes I wasn’t.
“Um, I’m sorry mom but I’ve got work to do an-” I was interrupted as always.
“You are going and I’m not going to pay attention to any of your excuses, so it would be better to save them for something else.” She ordered. I knew this was coming; I was just dim enough to say no to her in the first place.
“Okay, I will” I spoke half heartedly, taking the book from her hands which had a cupcake made on it.
“Aww, that’s like my good boy.” She spoke giving me a kiss on my cheek. Gross.
Izzie’s house was on walking distance from mine. On my way to her home, I saw many children playing in the recreational area constructed in our community. They were relishing with those wide smiles.
In no time I reached my destination. Hoping that Izzie wasn’t there I rang the door bell.
“I’ll get it” said a cheerful voice.
The moment she opened the door, I froze. Her smile faded away, letting the tears take place in her eyes. I wasn’t able to envisage any emotion at that time. As soon as I saw her face, the flashbacks from that night started playing in front of my eyes. Why did I come here? Why did I agree to what mom said? Why was I a jerk?
“Zayn, come in” Mrs. Stevens greeted me with a warm smile, flouting my thought train.
“No thank you Mrs. Stevens, I just wanted to return you this recipe book that my mother borrowed from you the other day. I should leave now.” Greeting her with the same smile, I turned around to go back.
“WAIT!” I heard her yell.
Stopping for a jiffy I started moving back, I didn’t want to talk to her, neither did I need any explanations from her.
“PLEASE! Listen to me for once” she said as I stood still “I want to talk to you.” Her voice was pretty confident; she clearly wasn’t ready to let me go.
I turned around and all I got was a blank face with eyes full of emotions, while I was searching for the answer to my questions. As I got no reaction I walked away. What was I doing? Why was I wasting time over nothing? She has no answers, and I don’t need any fake explanations.
