“Excuse me sir can you please show us the way to Thrill Ville?” I asked an old man who was walking down the street.
“Yes sure child, from here you have to go straight then take the first right after that leave two lefts, and take the third one. You’ll reach your destination.” He smiled as he gestured the directions with his hands. He was an aged man and wore a navy blue pant with a brown sweater, which had funny-shaped buttons running all the way down.
Ruth thanked the old man and he smiled warmly at both of us. He reminded me of grandpa. He had the same homely aura surrounding him, the kind that makes anyone and any one feel comfortable.
So today was the girl's day out. No boys. No drama, just us girls. I drove the Bugatti, Darcy sat beside me while Amanda and Ruth continued to behave like excited kittens in the backseat. Amanda complimented the car's cup-holders. "Omg Iz, these can reheat or cool up my coffee! Bloody cool. You're just too lucky haha." I smiled at her through the rearview mirror while she just continued to grin endlessly.
Following the directions we had inquired, we soon reached the much awaited destination. Thrill Ville. Darcy mouthed an "OH" while Amanda continued with an "M"; Ruth finishing it off with a "G". I laughed at the trio as I pushed back my shades in the handbag in true Spring Breakers style. It's so good to be away with the people who don't bring complications into your life. I needed this break, I whispered to myself as I shoved back the keys in the dashboard. Perks of a luxury car; you never have to bother about the keys.
Making a mental note to thank mom again for this gift, I started to find a place for parking; there were so many cars in there. It seemed as if whole of the United Kingdom had to visit this amusement park today itself. After about an hour I finally got an empty space to park. Half of my excitement had ruined right there.
There was so much rush everywhere I had to blink to catch sight of the three amidst the crowd. The place was stunning, I had to say that. The four of us grinned at each other as Amanda bought the tickets. I quickly straightened the creases on my jeans which had formed while I was driving. When we were going inside, some kid collided with Ruth making her extremely angry.
“Hey boy, can’t you see where you’re going? Why has God given you these two eyes for?” she yelled.
“Come on Ruth, he’s just a kid. Stay cool.” Darcy comforted her.
“You’re a jerk and I’m not a kid.” He snapped at Ruth’s face. We looked at each other in silence for a moment before simultaneously bursting out in laughter. This day was already amazing, could’ve expected nothing less.
“So, which ride first?” Ruth questioned.
We all took a long look around us and saw so many coasters, a giant ferris wheel; some marry go-rounds and so many more rides. Which one shall I go first? Ferris wheel? Let’s keep it for the last, I think I’ll start with the…
“Roller Coasters!” Darcy and I shouted in unison.
“Guys, can we, um… can we not take that ride. It’s so…scary.” Amanda sounded nervous.
“Scary? What are you? A little girl?” Ruth raised an eyebrow, “Come on Manda, see that little dork is also standing in the row for Goliath. I don’t want to get embarrassed in front of him.” She cried.
“Alright, you guys go for it. I’ll stay here.” She smiled.
“I’ll stay with you.” Darcy said.
“But you love roller coaster rides, don’t you?” I asked.
“Yeah, but someone has to stay with her, she can’t be left out.” She replied getting a little uneasy. It was clearly visible how much she wanted to ride the coaster.
