Ch. Thirty one 👑

Jin stands next to the carriage as other servants take the bags. Yoongi and Hobi left for Seoul a few days ago and that makes him feel at ease. They'll be safer there where no one is looking for them.

On the other hand, this last days have been boring as hell. Namjoon haven't talked to him at all. He's probably embarrassed as fuck which is funny to Jin. Especially when he realizes a Prince like Namjoon is avoiding a simple Chef like him.

Jin sees Minhyuk get everything ready next to him. He's the other Chef, the one that helped him on his first days there and the one that will be by his side. After all, Jin might be amazing but he can't prepare everything for a wedding on his own. Thankfully they get along. Minhyuk is not too rich not too poor so Jin can keep up a conversation with him.

A few meters away, Namjoon stands next to his father. But his eyes are on someone else. How is it possible for Jin to look even better with his everyday clothes?! He already looked handsome with his uniform!

Jin notices the staring and waves at the Prince. But under the scrutiny of his father Namjoon avoids waving back and simply enters the carriage. This will be a very long and very boring trip for him. He was used to travel hearing his little brother's dumb stories. But it's only him and his father now. He won't have a fun chat...unlike Jin

- You have no idea how many times he asked me to cook him chocolate cakes at 4 am

- Oh, yeah I remember the first time I met him. If it weren't for Namjoon I'd have lost the job

- You are the only Chef Taehyung likes! Every other partner I had was fired in under a month!

- It was mere chance. I just caught him on a sensitive moment

Minhyuk wishes he could get a chill relationship with Taehyung. Ever since he met him he saw him act like an annoying kid. But Jin wants to talk about someone else...

- How about Namjoon? I mean...how do you feel about him?

- He's an imbecile, obviously. Well...he turned into one. When we met he was too correct but kind nonetheless. He didn't feel superior to anyone. Then his father lectured him on how to rule a kingdom...and well, the rest is history

- So now he's a stressed and pressured Prince with no friends

- Stressed? Nah, he just doesn't control his emotions and snaps at anyone. Just like his father

Jin doesn't agree. Even if he doesn't want to defend Namjoon, there's something inside him that tells him he's not the worst human being ever. There's a kind side...even if Jin doesn't feel like he'll see that side very often.

Entering the Seoul territory, he starts noticing guards on he streets. Many of them. Too many actually. They look like they own the place and Jin starts to panic. Maybe his friends won't be as safe as he thought here. They just need to go unnoticed.

The Lee's castle is huge. Bigger than the Kim's. They really like showing off. Entering the place Felix waits for them with a wide smile on his face. He almost ignores the King and Prince, giving them only a small nod of the head and walks towards the Chefs

- Welcome! I've been waiting for you! I'm sure you'll make my wedding day a very special one. I've tasted your food before, you're incredible!

Jin and Minhyuk share a confused look before answering.

- Thanks, it's an honor

- You know, I wouldn't mind to hire you if you feel comfortable here! I'll pay you twice as much what the Kims give you.

Jin is not interested at all. His place is in Daegu, not here. But his partner is more than excited to take the offer. He clearly doesn't like working with Namjoon and having some extra money is always tempting.

Felix makes sure to let them know he'll be back later and they enter the new kitchen. Lee's chef is not there yet so they just look around for a while. There's guards everywhere. There's no room or hallway where there's not al least two of them.

After an hour the door opens and Namjoon enters looking a little uncomfortable. He asks the guards and Minhyuk to leave him alone with Jin who tries his best not to laugh at his attitude.

Once again Namjoon finds himself looking for the right words. He notices Jin waits for him without judging or hurrying him. He could take advantage of him but he doesn't. And Namjoon can't help to think he wants him to stay by his side for a long time. He is the closest to a friend, after all.

- I came here to apologize. I know it took me a few days because...well, you understand I had things to do...but it's no excuse. I'm sorry you had to see me like that the other night.

- Wait, you're apologizing for...crying?

- Well...it must have been incredibly uncomfortable for you to-

- No. I can deal with humans who have...you know...emotions. But robbing my letters? That was messed up

- Right. About that. Yes, I was wrong and I will never do something like that again. You don't have to worry about me being an inconvenience in any way

- Just don't be a dick. That's all. You don't need to ignore me forever

Jin uses the insult freely, forgetting who's in front of him. And he isn't sure why he's saying that. He wants to think it's not because he's curious about the Prince. He just...wants to get closer to Namjoon. Yes, for his plans! That's it...

Namjoon on the other hand can't hold a smile. He doesn't want to be away from him now. Especially with all that's going on. And that particular memory from the other night. The one where Jin was so close to him staring at his teary eyes. He looked so cute. Namjoon talks again while Jin rolls his eyes at is formal way of speaking.

- Sounds good to me. I'm sorry for my behavior. If you ever need anything or want to talk to me, I'm right here. I will listen

Jin sees the chance and takes it in under one second. He could ask for a little favor now, right?

- Actually...I wanted to walk around later tonight...could you tell the guards not to follow me around? It makes me feel really uncomfortable

- Yeah, the Lee family over did it with the security. Don't worry, I'll take care of it

Jin thanks him and Namjoon stays with him a little longer, drinking a coffee. Eventually they both have things to do. But at the end of the day, Jin can finally walk up to Changkyun's address. And without second thoughts, he knocks on the door...
