Ch. Thirty eight 👑

The King of Seoul had two sons. Taemin and Felix. Unlike other Kings, he didn't ask much from them. He gave them the liberty of choosing what kind of leaders they wanted to be. There was no pressure. And also, no limits.

Being a part of one of the richest families, they grew up happy and ambitious...too ambitious maybe. Taemin being the older brother, was gonna have an easy life. But Felix...he realized pretty fast how unfair it was gonna be for him. Next to his brother he would get hardly nothing. If he was lucky maaaybe he would marry someone powerful enough for him.

And in other families this would bring hate between the two siblings. But this was not the case. Taemin and Felix loved each other. They shared every secret, every laugh and every tear. Felix was happy for what his brother was gonna get. And Taemin was willing to give his little Brother half the Kingdom.

It was on one of those nights they used to spend talking till sunrise, when Taemin came up with a plan. One that could make both of them equally happy...and equally powerful.

- Everyone thinks you're only good enough for marrying some idiot and get us new deals. But what if instead of a deal we get a new Kingdom?

- You really think they're dumb enough to marry a future King with me? Older Princes are everyone's gold. Shit, look how many people come here for you!

- I never said you should marry an older Prince...What about a Young one?

- You dumb? It's literally the most pointless thing we could do!

Taemin laughed making his little brother confused.

- Oh Felix, I think I got the brains in the family. If for example, you marry the Young Prince of Daegu...

- I get nothing. Great example!

- True. Unless something happens to his older brother...

Felix finally gets the idea. His brother's smile showing his bad intentions. They saw it happen before. They saw Wozzi, Young Prince of Ilsan become King when his older brother died. Felix felt a smile appear on his face just imagining the possibilities.

- Taemin, Daegu is huge! I could have half Seoul and all Daegu! And I would marry Taehyung! They say he's beautiful...how about you? What Young Prince do you want to go for?

- I would like a calm Kingdom, where I can live peacefully. Something like...Busan...

But some things are easier said than done. Especially with such complicated targets. Both of them got rejected. But they didn't give up. While Taemin faked kindness and warm smiles for Jimin, Felix chased Tae demanding and insisting for a positive answer.

Felix couldn't help to smile every night before bed. Even if he had to try for ten years, he would get what he wanted. They would get what they wanted. And half the world would be at their feet. Oh, his happiness when Taemin got closer and closer to Park was undescribable.

The plan was so close to be completed by his older brother. But he didn't notice how much Taemin was changing. His eyes became softer. His words were kinder. His time next to Jimin affecting him. His intentions turning genuine.

Felix didn't mind when Taemin admitted he was in love. The plan was the same. It changed nothing for him. It might have been even better! But when Taemin decided to finally poison Jimin's older brother...

Taemin saw the way Jimin cried in his arms, asking for help. He saw the boy he loved looking for new doctors everyday. Taemin couldn't take it for long.

- Not even a whole Kingdom is worth his tears, Felix

- Not even me? I'm your brother! We planned it together! You want me to stop as well?

- You'll have half of Seoul, I promise you that! We just need to stop this!

Felix couldn't believe it at first. But when he saw Jimin's brother get better he realized it was all real. His brother was not the same anymore. They weren't gonna rule the world. And all thanks to Park Jimin.

Current time

Felix stands next to Taemin. Staring at him, like every night. His heart not allowing him to let his own brother die. His ambition not letting him live his life either. Constantly wondering how he got to this point.

- You had to ruin everything...You had to fall for that idiot and leave me alone...You said I would understand someday. How long has it been? And look at me...I still don't get it...

He's not really angry but extremely frustrated. He misses his older brother. He wants him to understand. To come back to his senses. And once again, like every single night after dinner, he asks him the same question

- If I let you live...would you follow our plan? Will you let me get away with it?

And like always, Taemin with the little energy he has denies with his head. Both of them feel the tears fill their eyes. Felix looks away and walks up to the door, in a constant battle with himself. He wants to go back in time to the moment he took the stupid decision of doing this to his brother. But since he can't do that...What's the point of helping Taemin now? Things won't come back to what they used to be.

Taemin sees him leave and even today is hard for him to accept he's not only scared of his little brother, but also extremely sorry.
