Ch. Eighteen 👑

Years ago...

Jimin had a great relationship with his family. His mother would always support his decisions. And his brother would defend him from any royal idiot he came across. Even his father when he wasn't insisting on him marrying Tae, was a great person. It broke his heart knowing this was something most people didn't have.

Last time he saw Tae visit him, he realized that. His cheerful and lovely best friend looked tired and somehow lonely. Namjoon looked just as miserable which made Jimin feel compassion for the both of them. Jungkook had terrible parents. Tae had the worst father he ever met. Was he the only happy one here?

- Jiminie - His mother called - are you in love with Tae? You've been watching him through the window for the last hour...

- First you thought I liked Kookie, now Tae, do you really wanna see my wedding already?

His mother laughed softly and Jimin smiled.

- Of course not. You're my little baby. And you don't have to worry about it. No matter what your father says I'll keep you single as long as possible!

- Thanks mother. But it's not like I wanna wait forever! Just...

- Until a blue Prince comes for you?

His cheeks were glowing red. Yes, that's exactly what he wanted. All those nights listening to fairy tales and romance stories made him have higher expectations.

- I hit the right spot, didn't I? Hahaha Oh baby, I'm sure a gorgeous prince will come with a dozen roses....someday, yeah

Jimin smiled and watched how on his backyard his two best friends shared a look full of love. Someday, he wished he could get that...

Currently...

After a long day at the orphanage he's in bed. He should sleep. He should...but his brain didn't get the memo. When is he supposed to see him again? They didn't set a date! Should he ask Jin? It's too late for that...maybe Kookie can go and ask but Hope would end up cutting his head off if Jin is not around. What if he just...goes?

It's not a great hour for a Prince to walk outside but if anything happens he'll just say he's Suga's friend. They're friends, right? Without second thoughts he gets dressed and walks out. Walking towards the kitchen he sees the door open. Hiding behind a wall, he feel his heart beat harder. Why is he going through so much trouble?

Thankfully, a very tired Namjoon walks past him and he can breathe again. He waits a few minutes and then enters the kitchen. Jin is already gone. No wonder, it's very late. Jimin walks his way up to the doctor's house. Should he knock? What if he's sleeping?

Only now he realizes how stupid this idea is. He sighs and decides to keep on walking. It's not like he'll be able to sleep anyway. It takes him half an hour but he reaches the lake again. And there, laying on the grass, looking at the stars, there's his favourite thief

- S-Suga?

Yoongi gets up in one go making himself a little dizzy. He hurries towards Jimin and makes sure he's okay.

- Prince?!

- You're here! I was looking for-

- What happened? Why are you here alone? Did any of the guys try to rob you? I told them not to-

- I'm fine! Hahaha I just...well I didn't know when we were gonna meet and...and it was late! I couldn't ask Jin! So I just-

Yoongi can't hold the laughter. The Prince looks so adorable when he talks so fast trying to excuse himself.

- So you just walked around alone...at 3 am?

- I...well, if you put it like that I sound like an idiot!

They smile and decide to sit next to each other, with the beautiful landscape in front of them. Apparently neither of them feel sleepy at all and pointless chatter is made.

- You robbed the Wang family?! Hahaha Tae always hated them! Their older child used to spend a lot of time with Namjoon and play heavy pranks on them.

- Well, you can tell the Young Prince they got what they deserved!

Jimin can't believe he's spending hours of his life learning about every noble Yoongi robbed.

- Suga... Do you remember the first time you gave money to someone? How was that?!

The thief's smile disappears for a second and Jimin fears he asked the wrong question.

- Ah, yes...They...they didn't like the idea. But that's what happens when you take from one noble and give it to another

- You gave money to a noble? Who? Why?

- It's not my story to tell. But listen, if you ever meet the Jung family...uhm...don't get too close, okay?

Jimin nods despite not knowing who that family is. It doesn't ring any bells really. Maybe Tae knows something about it! The sun rises slowly over their heads and only then Jimin realizes he needs to go back to the castle. Yoongi makes sure to accompany him for a fair part of the road. But he can't get too close to the castle. Not if he wants to keep his head attached to his neck.

- I guess, this is it...

- You know I - Yoongi tries to find the right words - well, I tend to have sleeping problems and I'm always at the lake so...if you ever...you know...

- I'll make sure to visit you there then. If you want me to of course! I don't wanna be annoying or anything!

Yoongi chuckles and can't help to feel good knowing the Prince is just as interested in him as he is. He then stops the Prince's rambling and asks for him to wait for a moment. Jimin stays there for less than a minute when he sees the other return with a bunch of flower who knows from where

- Here my Prince, they're not as beautiful as you, but I think they're pretty enough

Yoongi doesn't know how he got the courage to say that but he's happy he did when he sees Jimin's eye's go into a straight line and a smile appears on his face.

- Thank you, Suga

They have to say goodbye once again and Jimin walks back home. Wondering what would his mother say if she knew his blue prince might not be a Prince at all...
