MELIODAS POV:
"I am sorry for leaving you like that... EBIS...!"
KANANI POV:
I stirred awake, the soft light filtering through the curtains casting a warm glow over the room. The memories of the previous day were still hazy, but the lingering emotions clung to me like a second skin. I found myself lying in a comfortable bed, the gentle sway of the room indicating that we had stopped moving. 'Where are we?' I wondered as I sat up, stretching my arms to shake off the last remnants of sleep.
After changing into my usual attire, I made my way downstairs. As I entered the main room, I was greeted by the familiar sight of my friends. "Hi, everyone," I said with a small wave, trying to shake off the uneasy feeling that lingered at the back of my mind.
Everyone returned my greeting with smiles and nods. Elizabeth approached me, her face soft with concern. "Well, what about Diane? Did we get her?" I asked, hopeful that we had reunited with our friend.
Elizabeth's smile faltered slightly as she shook her head. "We did find her, but she was protected by someone else. We thought it would be best to leave her with them for now," she explained. I nodded, my heart sinking a little at the news. A small wave of sadness washed over me, but I quickly pushed it aside. There was no time to dwell on what couldn't be changed.
As I tried to process this, King floated over to me, his eyes full of regret. "I'm sorry, Ethera," he said, his voice low and sincere. "I didn't mean to hurt you with what I said before."
I turned to him with a gentle smile, shaking my head. "Oh, King, there's no need for apologies. I might have overreacted a bit myself. Don't worry about it," I reassured him, trying to lighten the mood. "So, where are we headed next?"
Before anyone could answer, Meliodas popped in, his usual cheeky grin in place. "Why don't you come and check it out for yourself? It'll be more fun that way, don't you think?" he said, his tone playful as always.
I rolled my eyes playfully at his antics but couldn't help the smile that tugged at my lips. "Alright, alright, let's see what you've got in store," I said as I followed him outside. The moment I stepped out, I was greeted by a vast, sprawling green field dotted with large, ancient rocks. The sight was breathtaking, a mix of natural beauty and mysterious serenity.
Hawk's mom had stopped, and I jumped down from the Boar Hat, eager to explore this new place. The grass was soft underfoot, and I couldn't resist the urge to run, feeling the wind whip through my hair as I raced across the open field. I felt a brief sense of freedom, my worries momentarily forgotten as I enjoyed the sensation of the earth beneath me.
But as I crossed under an arch-shaped rock, everything changed. The landscape shifted abruptly, like stepping through a magical barrier. The air grew heavy, thick with an ancient power that made my skin tingle. My heart skipped a beat as I looked around, bewildered by the sudden transformation. "What is this place...?" I whispered, more to myself than to anyone else.Meliodas appeared behind me, his hands casually tucked behind his back. He was calm, almost too calm, given the circumstances. "This place is special, isn't it?" I said, still trying to wrap my head around what had just happened.
