I hastily make my way back to the car. I am about to tell everyone about what just happened but I saw a missed call from my wife. I call her back.
"Hey JJ, thanks for calling me back."
"No problem, what's up?"
"Uhh your brother called. He invited us over for dinner."
"Oh cool, you wanna go?"
"Yeah, I don't mind."
"Well I am on my way home, let's make some dessert together shall we?"
"Sounds good, see you later."
"Bye."
A couple hours later
We arrived at my brother's house. I haven't seen him in a while. Makayla knocks on the door before i have a chance to think about it. After a couple minutes the door opens.
"JACOB!" My brother shout.
"Hey, Ron. It's been a while."
My brother Ron is a YouTuber. He has a couple million subscribers. He's not exactly rich but you know, YouTubers aren't that successful. We all sat down for dinner. He had made some butter chicken, my favourite. My mum used to make it for us all the time. She eventually taught both of us how to make it. I didn't think my brother cooked. I thought he just ate 2 minute noodles.
"So how is everything?" Ron asked.
"It's good. I actually went for a job interview earlier today." I told him.
"Oh was that the reason I couldn't contact you today. Did you have your phone off?" Zoe asked
"No I didn't" That's weird why would my phone not be working while I am inside the school, but that explains why I didn't feel my phone vibrate in my pocket.
"So what were you interviewing for? A chef, a police officer?" Ron asked.
"No I was actually getting a job at Bentley Sta..." Ron cut me off
"Bentley State College. Really? Why do you think I dropped out of there in year 10?"
"Because your YouTube channel was getting bigger?"
"Well yeah but also those new staff people are really weird."
"Getting off that conversation who wants dessert?" Zoe asked. She gave me one of those disapproving looks I have seen way too often.
"Me!" Ron and Makayla shouted.
