THE FIRST DAY

Today's the day. I'm about to return to my old childhood school. My job; to find out what's been going on for the past 12 years at Bentley State College. And it all starts with two words:

"Hello guys" I said to the room full of teachers I used to know.

"This is our new staff member, Lucas O'Callaghan. He'll be helping out around the office." Trevor said. "Who wants to take him under their wing?"

"I will." I turn around and see Felix with his hand raised. Oh boy this can't be good.

"Perfect, Felix you have the day off from classes. Today you show Lucas around the school."

"Will do boss. Come on little man." Man I hate it when he used to call me that. Just for reference, Felix is almost 8 foot tall. He's a very big guy. Almost as tall as Tommy. It's actually really scary. "Well, what are you waiting for?"

"Oh yeah I'm coming." I walk out of the crowded office with Felix in front of me. He really is tall. We stop at a couple of offices of some of the other teachers. We walk past a door and it suddenly swings open. I see a lady in purple clothes and black hair with purple eye earrings. Ahh yes, this must be the infamous Mrs Tempest I heard about from Cane and Reece.

"So you're the new guy. Even better looking than your photo." Um how did she get my photo? Oh right my resume. "My name is Helen Tempest. How are you enjoying Felix's tour?"

"Oh it's fine. He's very thorough. He definitely knows his way around."

"We'll just let me know if you need help with anything." She winks at me.

"Hey man, don't worry about Helen. She doesn't bite." He jabs his elbow into my stomach. Man are all these guys just stereotypical office workers. We keep walking through the office. Man this place is big. It feels like it's bigger on the inside.

"This is Vicki Ladier's office she's the deputy principal. That there is Terry Lance and Samuel Peters offices. Over here is Elaine Delaney's office and finally Tiffany Reeves."

"Wow lots of people here. So where's my office?" I asked.

"Oh yours is next to Helen. Good luck with that mate." He laughs and I let out a little chuckle. Man I have to work out what's going on while one of these imposters are breathing down my neck. This can't end well.
