Part 5: Near Execution

Inside the Octarian Base...

Natalie: Eugh, walking in here still gives me the creeps, y'know.

Samuel: Yea, I agree. Pretty nasty.

Jade: Keep your eyes on the mission, find the way to the camps and free everyone.

After tons of stealth walking...

Natalie: Man, this is tiri- *falls through a trapdoor*

Samuel: NATALIE! *tries opening the trapdoor* NO NO NO...

Where Natalie is going...

Natalie: *falls into a cell* HEY WHAT THE FUCK?

Guard: *contacts obsidian* Hey, we found her in the cell. Seems like she fell for her trap. I bet her blue inkling friend is here. Yes, I'll send guards, but come over, ok? I want my lunch.

Natalie: You want lunch? I'll give you a KNUCKLE SANDWICH!

The guard already left. Then, Lt. Obsidian comes in via kettle with 2 guards behind her.

Lt. Obsidian: *opens the cell door, and walks over to Natalie, then punches her in the face* YOU TRAITOR! 2 YEARS AGO I GAVE YOU THAT LETTER TO GET ENROLED, AND YOU DESERTED!

Natalie: 2 years? Let it go, I'm much happier up in inkopolis. And so are all the octolings who are free from this dictatorship.

Lt. Obsidian: *punches her again* I DONT CARE! We are meant to be warriors, tough soldiers who kill any squid who stands. You dare go against our nature?

Natalie: It was never our nature... DJ Octavio made us believe that it was. Your just as bad as him!

Lt. Obsidian: I'm a much better ruler then him. Because I'm tougher on traitors, and don't get stuck in snow globes. I was able to keep your friends in line at the concentration camp. Now, you have two choices, join our army officially as a hero, or rot in prison as a traitor.

Natalie: *spits in obsidians face*

Lt. Obsidian: *inhales, then exhales, barley keeping her cool* Tough girl, huh? Let's see if I kill that blue inkling infront of you... *grins*

Natalie: *shocked face* NO!

Lt. Obsidian: We'll capture him, and we'll bring you to his execution! *walks out and shuts the door*

Natalie: I need to break out...

Meanwhile with Samuel and Jade

Samuel: *clearly stressed* Gahh...

Jade: Hey.

Samuel: Hmm?

Jade: I'm sorry that happened to Natalie...

Samuel: Oh, it's ok... *sighs* 

Jade: I feel like that was on me. I should've known, I've been fighting octarians for years.

Samuel: Hey, don't blame yourself.

Jade: Well... Look, I can tell your stressed about her, you love her. I mean, I consider myself the leader when the captain ain't around, so I feel like anything bad happens to my teammates, it's my fault. I have... issues, I make sure their safe. And I feel very guilty that I'm feared by a lot of octolings. At the time of the first great zapfish disappearance, I didn't know octolings were brainwashed, I just saw them all as evil creatures with no heart, so I killed them. When I first saw Katelin, she was lost, desperate to get to the surface. She literally begged at my knees... The captain was confused and then me and Kate fought, mistaking each over for a threat, but then we were knocked away. Next time I saw her, she and the captain were trapped in a blender, so I kicked them out of it, but the fall knocked me unconscious. Then, I was mind controlled by Tartar, and nearly killed her again, but I also attacked the captain. Thankfully, Katelin kicked my sorry ass. When I woke up, I realised the truth. Not all octolings are bad. Not even the majority. I don't know how many innocent people I killed, and it keeps me up at night. Me and Katelin both suffer from our own PTSD. Only I'm better at hiding it. Being Agent 3 is not all anime heroism. It's a lot of work, it's why I'm usually so reserved. Heck, I never talk this much usually. *sighs*

Samuel: I know how you feel. Ok, I didn't go through nearly as much shit as you, but still. I'm... Not always doing well. In middle school, I was very wimpy, and scared. Kinda relied on my big sister and friends. In high school I got better, and I didn't want people to suffer like I did, so I stood up for people and tried helping. The reason I helped Natalie was because I felt sorry for her, she didn't deserve anything she went through... Cod, when I found her lying, severely injured from torture, I cried. I also felt undying anger at Scarlet... Heck, when fighting the octobusters, I felt bad. Cyalux used to be my friend. But when he died, I did have remorse because he used to be my friend, but then I realised something. The real Cyalux died after we left middle school. Right now, in this mission... Am I the right fit? You are. Your tough and powerful, but I feel weak. I don't think I'm good enough...

Jade: Sam, you are more then good enough. You saved your girlfriend, your best friend, your saviour, dozens of innocent people. You may think your not good enough, but you have the right heart for the job. The captain would love you. He picks agents who have good hearts, not just strength. Now, we have a job to do. You gonna repay your cousin, who flung herself in front of you? You gonna rescue more innocents? You gonna save your love?

Samuel: Yes. Now, we're going to do it!

Scarlet: Aww, what do we have here? Two pathetic simps who make out with pit dwellers!

Samuel: Scarlet... MOVE...

Scarlet: Ha, the "boss" has you right here. So, you two better stop bitching like emotional sappy babies.

Lt. Obsidian: I'll take it from here. *shoves scarlet to the side* Well well well, I finally got the infamous Agent 3, and a random loser also caught in my net. Now, your all surrounded. Make one move, and you will die.

Samuel and Jade get taken to an execution room.

Lt. Obsidian: Hey, you, soldier! Bring Natalie here, in handcuffs!

Soldier: Well, she was broken out of her cell, it seems...

Lt. Obsidian: *shoots the soldier in the head* Welp, someone get the camera. We're starting this execution without Natalie.

Samuel: She's alive... Thank goodness...

Lt. Obsidian: Shame, really. I was going to make her watch you die.

Jade: You actually wanted her to see her boyfriend die in front of her?

Lt. Obsidian: Wait... *points at samuel* Your in a relationship with that octoling?

Samuel: Well... Yeah!

Lt. Obsidian: ...

Lt. Obsidian and her soldiers burst out laughing!

Lt. Obsidian: Ok, that's enough comedy. That was... surprising, considering inklings and octolings are meant to hate each over. Your not even the same species.

Samuel: It doesn't matter that we're different! We have a connection, and that's what matters. If only someone as heartless as you understood what that meant.

Lt. Obsidian: Well... Let's see what she'll do without you... *grins* Alright soldiers, aim your chargers... And-

CRASH! A splashdown comes and takes out all the executioners. Lt. Obsidian survives thanks to her armour.

Natalie: *points a gun at Obsidian* Hah! If you've been spying on us, you'd know what happens to people who touch those I care about! Also, you might need to upgrade your cell, breaking out on my own wasn't that hard.

Lt. Obsidian: It seems you have a sense of loyalty after all... Too bad it's for the wrong people-

Ruby: *punches Obsidian in the back of the head with a rock, knocking her out* Will she shut up for like, two seconds?

Natalie: Ruby! Hey!

Jade: Thanks, I guess.

Samuel: Quick, we gotta go!

Ruby: The camps are gone, your friends are safe.

Samuel, Jade, Natalie and Ruby run out of the base.

Scarlet: *comes back to the execution room with popcorn* Alright, time to watch my enemy- EH? WHERE IS HE... Well, know what. I've got an idea. Time to do what I promised to do a year ago...
