The students who passed the last round gathered in front of the stadium Nemuri was on, dressed up in her hero suit. Wendy and Lucy had parted ways to stand with their teams. Ojiro was standing further away from the group looking conflicted, so Wendy decided to talk to him.

"Hey, Ojiro! You were amazing during the battle, I don't think I would have blocked all those attacks without you," Her classmate looked at her confused.

"You remember the fight?"

It was Wendy's turn to look confused, she started to get worried if he had gotten hit in the head: " Of course, why wouldn't I? Are you ok? Did you get hurt during the fight? I can heal you!"

"No I am fine, I think it was that purple-haired guy doing," Ojiro seemed to be talking to himself more than to Wendy as he looked at Shinso.

Feeling Ojiro's gaze, Shinso turned to look their way. Wendy raised her hand to wave at him but Ojiro stopped her.

"I don't know why he didn't control you either but you should stay away from him," He warned her, shooting Shinso a weary look.

Conflicted, Wendy gave him a sorry smile. She was going to ask Ojiro what he meant but Nemuri began announcing the matchups. When he said he would drop out Wendy was at a loss, especially when the other guy dropped out after him. Before Wendy got the chance to try and talk Ojiro out of his decision Nemuri agreed and two other students were chosen in their place.

At a loss, Wendy tried to talk to Shinso but Lucy's voice distracted her: "Wendy! Are you ok, what was Ojiro talking about?"

"I...I don't know," She said sighing in defeat, Shinso had slipped into the crowd and disappeared when she looked away.

"Hey, it's fine. It was his choice," Lucy comforted when she saw Wendy was starting to blame herself.

"But I didn't do anything, He was acting off when we were teamed but I didn't do anything about it. Now he says he doesn't remember the match...I should have done something," Tears were filling Wendy's eyes as she talked, her frustration with herself flooding over.

Shaking her head Lucy pulled Wendy's trembling form in for a hug. Growing and maturing faster than her, Lucy was already a head taller and her curves started to come back. Allowing Wendy to be engulfed in the hug, mostly out of sight from others.

"You couldn't have known Wendy. None of this was your fault, remember that," Lucy whispered to Wendy as she stroked her head.

Giving in Wendy nodded, smiling Lucy used her sleeve to wipe away any stray tears.

"Come on, let's go to the stands and watch the matches with our class."

As the first battle began, elsewhere in Japan a female Hero watched the tv. Her eyes glittering she watched intently as the young heroes in training began their fight. Running footsteps pulled her attention away from the screen.

"Bud, come and watch the sports Festival, they got to the fighting round!" She tilted her head back against the couch as she yelled.

"I can't teach. Promised Happy to take him fishing." A boy called back, feet pounding as he ran around the little apartment.

"Alright but be back before dark, you are still on probation for that fight last week." Silence filled the apartment, the boy thinking if he acted like he didn't hear her, he would get let off. But knowing him for so long she yelled again, "Well if you don't want that buffet and sparing match tomorrow you should have just said so."

"Ok fine! I will be back before dark!" He yelled, a hint of desperation in his voice, " Right Happy?"

"Aye!"
