Don't think I've forgotten about you.
You've been burned into my heart by a raging fire,
I couldn't forget you if you begged me to.
Your tears and mine, like a river through time,
Carved a canyon so deep through my soul,
I remember you with every breath and every rhyme.
It's a huge comfort to see you laughing, smiling,
The way you did before I let you down,
Before all the pain and all the crying.
I don't know who he is, but he's good for you,
I've never seen you glowing so gloriously.
I hope he loves you as much as I still do.
I hope you don't think I hate you;
I walked right passed you like you weren't even there;
I thought that it was the right to do.
I was afraid that if I said hello
You would remember all the hurt and pain,
Which are feelings I hope never again know.
But please don't think I've forgotten you.
You were the oxygen I breathed for several years,
I couldn't forget you if you begged me to.
