Wind, rain, sun or snow,
Forget the weather, I always know
I can put on my shoes and off I'll go.
I always have a 5k in me.
First thing in the morning or last thing at night,
I can go in the dark or in the daylight,
It'll be comfortable, it'll never be a fight.
I always have a 5k in me.
After an eight hour shift or a weekend at home,
I can go with my friends or go alone,
I can share my time or keep it unknown.
I always have a 5k in me.
When depression has me doubting myself,
And I have no one I can turn to for help,
I know what I can do to help myself.
I always have a 5k in me.
When anxiety has me losing my mind,
When I'm so lost that I can't be defined,
I turn to the one thing I can always find.
I always have a 5k in me.
It doesn't matter if I've spent a few months injured,
And I've lost a lot of strength and fitness,
I know I can go out and complete it.
I always have a 5k in me.
Twenty-four minutes, it's no real effort,
But it's something I can be proud of.
It's one of the few things I know I love.
I always have a 5k in me.
It is the only truth I've ever known.
It doesn't matter what I've been through, or where I go,
Or if I'm broken, or if I've grown.
I always have a 5k in me.
It doesn't matter what fire has my heart burning,
It's the only lesson I've spent my life learning.
Even Sania Mirza has seen me running.
I always have a 5k in me.
