A Dodrio calls in the rising sun in a small town called Pallet Town. A young girl named Sapphire has just turned 10 years old and is ready to receive her first pokemon. Sapphire was a slim girl with teal eyes with black glasses. She always wanted Squirtle as her starter as she loves water types. In her room was a pikachu and a maril plush and a gyarados poster. She woke up from the calls from the Dodrio and got dressed into her blue dress with fake milotic scales on it and pot on her blue hat with a pidgeotto feather on the top. She put on her shining black boots and headed downstairs.
Her mother, Lily, was making bacon and eggs for breakfast. She is a pokemon breeder, who helps breeds Bulbasaurs, squirtles and charmanders to give to professor oak for new trainers. She smiled as Sapphire came down the stairs. Her Meowth came up to Sapphire to say good morning.
"Good morning Sapphire, you are up early."
"Thanks mum."
"I can't believe you are about to become a pokemon trainer! It felt like only yesterday that you was a baby."
"I know." Sapphire replied. "I'm going to miss you."
"Which starter are you going to pick?" Lily asked Sapphire.
"Oh I was always going to choose Squirtle!" Smiled Sapphire.
She sat down and had her breakfast. Suddenly there was knocking on the door. She went and opened the door handle. It was her friends, Emerald and Ruby! Emerald was a tall and lanky 12 years old boy with olive green hair and deep green eyes. He has freckles and a green shirt. Ruby was shorter and had amber eyes and spiky red hair. His shirt was red.
"Ready to go to the professor's place to get our starters?!" Shouted Ruby.
"Yes!" Sapphire shouted with glee.
"And I'm going to choose Bulbasaur!" Emerald said happily.
"We all know that Charmander is the coolest pokemon!" Ruby boasted. "I mean, it's evolution is a fire breathing dragon, called Charizard!"
"Yes but I think that Squirtle is cooler!" Sapphire argued. "I can't wait to meet my buddy!"
"What are you waiting for?!" Shouted Ruby with a burning gaze "Lets go!"
Sapphire's eyes flashed. "I got to say goodbye to mum first!"
Sapphire walked to her mother who was doing the dishes.
"Good luck my sweetheart!" Smiled Lily.
"Goodbye..."Sapphire breathed.
"If something bad happens, you can always come home. I can heal your pokemon."
Tears was falling from Sapphire's eyes.
"I love you!"
"Love you too my sweets."
Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald headed off to Professor Oak's lab.
On the way to Oak's Lab, Ruby started boasting about which pokemon he wants on his team.
"On my team, I want Charizard, Gengar, Dragonite, Mewtwo, Articuno and Zapdos!"
"Seriously, Ruby, what are the odds of catching legendary pokemon?! Shouted Emerald.
"Also, your Charmander may never ever reach the second or third stage. There have been cases of pokemon choosing not to evolve." Sapphire quickly added.
They soon reached the entrance of Professor Oak's Lab. Sapphire knocked on the door.
Professor Oak opened the door. "Hello you three. What would you like?"
