ΔΔΔI looked at my cup and at the flashing lights thinking why I even came to this stupid party in the first place. My friends had all left me to either get wasted or fucked so I just sat alone. I've only been in Seattle for about two years and it was only a matter of time before my mother, who didn't care about me at all, makes me move in with another one of her friends for a couple of years.
"Y/N we brought you to have funnn, not swallow in your thoughts," my friend Beth slurred her plea as she clearly was already having fun.
"You're right, I'm sorry," I said snapping out of my thoughts and looking up at her now smiling face.
"Great! Let's go play a game."
Before I even had time to protest she was pulling me away from my lonely seat and thoughts and to a game that obviously involved alcohol.
Did I mention we are just barely sophomores in high school? We got invited to this party because I'm new to town, Beth basically knows everyone, and even though I don't want to admit it every guy basically throw themselves at me.

I don't know how much time passed by, but I know I was drunk. I looked down at my phone and it was almost one in the morning. I cursed under my breath because I had to get home for my guardians were going to be home in about an hour. They knew I was going to a party, but I promised them that if I didn't text them before midnight that I was staying with someone that I would be home. So I went to go look for my group's designated driver.
"Beth! Where'ssss Theo!" I slurred. God, she was more out of it than I was, I thought.
"Theo" she questioned.
"Where's zzzeee" I badly slurred, but she still understood me.
"He's inda back" she yelled over the music that still seemed to blare at this hour.
I carefully made my way through the crowd that was still here and towards the back finding myself back in the spot I was earlier before Beth pulled me away from it.
"Heard you were looking for me" I heard a voice say in front of me.
I looked up to his smiling blue eyes. I nodded in response.
"You're drunk and didn't text them before midnight so you need to go home" he asked with a small smirk.
"Yeahhhh" I whined in response. "I'm sssorryyy."
"No it's fine. C'mon I'll take you home. Everyone else is staying here," he said as he helped me up so I didn't lose my balance. He helped me to his car and gave me a bottle of water to drink on the way home.
I could tell he was hesitant to tell me something all the way home. We got to my house and he stared into space deep in thought before breaking the silence.
"You could come stay at my place if you want," he said with hope and a hint of nervousness that I didn't quite catch.
"Theo, you know the midnight rule, and plus I'm drunk and pretty tired. I just want to go to bed," I said in response.
The boy sighed in defeat and nodded in understanding. "Okay. Let me help you up to your room so you don't fall," he said with a slight chuckle.
He helped me up the stairs to my room, catching me each time I almost slipped down the stairs. He helped me into my bed, we said our goodbyes, and I went right to sleep as soon as I heard him exit the house.
One thing was bugging me though. He seemed as though he had guilt in his eyes.

The next morning was like no other. I woke up with a hangover, and of course the usual bright morning sun wasn't helping. I go to reach my blinds, but feel something else instead...
A tree.
Instead of smelling the natural dust and perfume smell of my room, it smelt like smoke and dirt. So I quickly sat up and darted my eyes open finally realizing where I was.
I was in the woods just outside of the city with just a sports bra and shorts on, covered in soot and dirt.
