"I'm going to take you to the skinwalkers again. See what they can do and find out," my mother declared.
Kira seemed confused by what mom had meant by again and others were just confused by the whole phrase, especially the "skinwalkers."
"Noshiko, do you think that is the best idea for her right now," Deaton asked with a worried look.
I spot Isaac in the kitchen and notice a small five behind his ear, which gives me an idea.
"Yeah. Do you really think that is the best idea for me right now when you have a nogitsune problem on your hands, mother," I asked, looking into her eyes.
Everyone stared at me.
"H-how do you know about that," Scott asked.
I point to Isaac. "The mark of the Oni is behind his ear, clearing that he is still himself, and not to mention I was marked as a kid, as one of the trials to confirm me as a human."
"Okayy. How do you know about the nogitsune," Allison asked me.
I pondered for a moment. Thinking if I should answer that question. "Doesn't matter. How do you guys know?"
"A yakuza named Katashi. He has a nickname-" Ali stated.
"Silverfinger" I finished for her, as everyone looked at me even more confused than they already were. "So you don't know the history of the nogitsune?"
"History? I just assumed it was like a Darach, but you know in kitsune form? Evil kitsune? No? Okay then," Stiles said.
"Whatever. You'll find out soon," I said.
Scott seemed confused. "Why can't you tell us now?"
"I agree with Scott," Isaac said, coming back into the room.
"Because it is a long story, it isn't my story to tell, and I have some things to do, more people to see," I said in a pout.
The doorbell rang.
"Speaking of more people," Scott said.
"Well it is tense here. I recommend a massage," I heard a familiar voice.
"Scott, what did you need help with," I heard another familiar voice.
I had to be dreaming. My eyes were about to tear up due to the amount of joy I was in right now. I turned around to see if the familiar voices matched the faces I was remembering.
I smiled slightly as I recognised them. "D-Derek? Peter?"
The two males examined me a little further until they realized who I was.
"Y/N? What are you doing here," Derek asked.
"Yeah, not that I'm not happy you're here, but didn't you commit a crime at the last place you were staying," Peter said.
"Like you haven't committed a crime yourself," I said, rolling my eyes.
I explained to them what happened in Seattle and how I ended up here, that I know about the Hale fire, and that we suspect someone may have been out to kill me since I was a kid.
"Now since that is all out of the way, where is Cora," I said looking between the two Hales.
They looked at each then at me. "You take this one Derek. Where is Cora?"
Derek suddenly looked uncomfortable. "Uhh. I sent her away from here. It's too dangerous."
"WHAT! TOO- Too dangerous!?? Derek it's Beacon Hills. There's danger everywhere, and not to mention you have a room full of teenagers right here willing to risk their life to save it. Meanwhile YOU just sent another one off somewhere else," I said.
"Well I mean back then you weren't that close with her. It was us, you-" Peter started.
"Shut up!" Derek and I both said.
"Look I am sorry, but she is the only family I have left and I want her to be safe," Derek stated.
"Ouch. I am slightly offended by that," Peter said, hurtfully.
"I understand that Der, but how does she feel about that? I'm pretty sure at her age she can take care of herself, and she's not safe in your protection, around you?"
"No. She got hurt when she was with me. More than she was away for all those years after the fire," he said in a pained tone.
"Oh," I said, understanding.
There was silence until it was broken by Peter.
"Okay, this got very awkward very fast. Anyway, Y/N why are you here out of all places, you could be anywhere by now," he asked.
"Like I explained, I woke up outside of Beacon Hills Preserve a month ago. I found out Kira was here so I decided to stay and see all of you. It also happens to be the one place that ever felt like home," I explain to Peter and everyone.
Stiles ponders for a moment until he has the question he is looking for.
"Why show up now if you've been here for a month? Where are you staying? What have you been doing," he integrates.
"Stiles calm down, she's been through enough the past year," Scott says in a hush.
Stiles was not about to be put down though.
"No! How do we know if she's telling the truth or not!? What if she has some ulterior motive," Stiles exclaims.
I take in a breath, considering everything that has been said.
"You're right, Stiles. Have every wolf in this room listen to my heartbeat as you interrogated me. Have your dad strap me to a polygraph test. See if I'm lying then," I say roughly.
"W-well I've been listening to her heart the whole time and she hasn't lied once," Isaac said, as every eye went towards him. "Trust issues."
I have to admit that kind of hurt, that he didn't believe me, but also relieved me
because I had proof.
"Whatever," Stiles said bluntly.
"Okay. Now that we have that out of the way, I have some people to see," I say as I walk towards the door.
"You are not going anywhere," my mother said in a stern tone.
You turn to face your mother and tell her something you have finally gotten the courage to say over the years.
"I am going because you gave up on being my mother the day you gave up on me being your daughter. I wasn't 'perfect' enough for you, and I'm sorry for that."
I left Scott's without another word and decided to walk to the hospital to see his mom. Melissa has been like a mother to me during my time in Beacon Hills, besides Talia.
I'm not even two blocks away from Scott's house when I start having a piercing headache. I heard my name being called by a deep robotic-sounding voice, but I didn't know where it was coming from. I was on my knees, holding my head in my hands because of the searing headache.
"Y/N," the voice said. "Remember your mission."
My mission!? What? I'm so confused.
