chapter 1

lane

i woke up to the sun slipping through the curtains. i open my eyes slowly and stare at the ceiling. i turn my head to the right and reach for my phone. it is not there. i sit up and check my surroundings. nothing around me looks familiar. i hear a low snore come from my left and my heart drops.

i slowly turn me head and see the back of a man i have never seen before. he has a tattoo that spreads across his back. his blonde curly hair rests on his head. he groans and slowly moves and i swing my legs off the bed. i go to stand up when my blood goes cold. i feel the heat of him breathing on my neck.

"leaving so soon?" he says in a deep and sly voice. i go to stand up when i feel a cold breeze. then it hit me; i was naked. i looked around the room for my clothes and phone but couldn't find any of it. i feel his hand grab my hair as he moved it from my neck.

i notice a bathroom door and bolt to the door. i hit his jaw with my shoulder from jumping which made me able to make it quickly. i close and lock the door quickly as my heart races. i see my clothes on the floor and my phone on the counter.

i grab my clothes and phone and go to the glass shower. i dial harleys number while i get dressed. she answered right away.

"where are you?! are you okay?!" i could hear the worry in her voice.

"im fine harley. i just don't know where i am. i woke up in a bed with some guy and- " she cut me off.

"lane what does the guy look like??"

"i didn't get a good look. all i know is that he has a back tattoo that spreads across the top of his back and he has blonde curly hair." harley went silent. i heard a conversation happening through the phone.

"lane it's alec. that is my best friend ace. stay where you are we will be there soon." and with that he hung up.

i heard a thud at the door and my heart dropped. i sat there in silence and looked at my phone. 8 missed calls from josh. i go to text him but then i hear ace.

"please let me explain. it's all a misunderstanding. i don't want to hurt you. please let me explain" he sounded very worried. i stood up and got out of the shower. i walked to the door and rested my ear on the door. i could hear his breathing get faster. i grabbed the doorknob and slowly turned it.
