(Alby POV)
I walk to the lonely medic room with Newt. Jeff and Clint are on break and won't be back for a while so I know we have time. Newt just stands there,arms crossed as I lean into the wall. Eyes locked in an embrace. My heart is pumping out of my chest and my legs feel like jelly for some weird reason.
"What is it?" Newt asks.
"I wanted to see if you were okay."
"Fine."
"Newt.."
"Things are bad,and soon they'll get worse. That's for sure."
"Not if we stick together."
"Alby stop it."
"What?"
"Look." Newt grabs my chin so it's directly focused into his eyes "Nothing is going to changed the fact that I am shucked. And you can't stop that."
"Everything was going so well."
"For you... Every month someone's life is being ripped away form them. Can't you see that?"
"Of course. What are we meant to do for them? This exactly,this is all we're going to have for now Newt and you need to accept that! But when we do escape,it'll be so worth it. It'll be me and you together forever,and I know that's what you want."
"What about everyone else?"
"We'll all go. Every boy in this place will make it out of here alive. Back home."
"And what happens if we don't?"
"That's not an option. Now come here."
I lie on the ground then he curls up next to me as my hands pull him into an embrace. He clings back tightly onto my grasp,as if I'm about to let go. I stroke his blonde curls and then close my eyes, and it kills me to know that we can't stay like this forever. I don't know how long is left of my life but I know that I want to spent every single second of it with him. He's the only one I can trust,the only one I can love. He's the reason I keep on going,he's the reason I stay strong.
