Taniya's POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm ringing and stretched my arms with a yawn playing on my lips. It was a beautiful day since the sun was shining brightly.

I felt amazing to be back home with dad. I missed the feeling of home all these days.

I got up tiredly from my bed and headed for shower. After finishing my work, I dressed up wearing a short white flowery dress with sphegetti straps.
I added a few gold rings and a choker necklace matching it before heading downstairs for breakfast.

As I reached the kitchen, I saw dad cooking something near the stove.

"DAD" I called out for which he turned around with a huge grin on his face. He had a pink apron with "Mr.Good Looking is Cooking" written on it.

I laughed at it before engulfing him in a huge bear hug. I pulled away from his embrace as I looked at the pancakes on the stove which was almost burnt.

He smiled sheepishly at it, as I shook my head in return. I snapped my fingers as I used my magic to fix the pancakes.

Soon it looked fluffy and smelled so good.

My dad smiled at me muttering, "Perks of having a witchy daughter" for which I smiled in return. Piya soon descended the stairs and joined us for breakfast.

We all sat together and ate our breakfast. My mind instantly wandered back to those days when me and Piya would have breakfast with our parents together.  I missed my mom so bad right now, I wish we could all be together like those good old days. But I know that its not possible.

** Flashback **

I woke up to the voice of my mom screaming in her room. I quickly tip toed and listened to the conversation. I knew eavesdropping was bad but I was young and curious.

"Please Agastya , tell me its not true" she cried out.

"Trust me Bella, I didnt want any of this to happen. But we need to accept the truth" a man's voice replied which I instantly recognized as my dad's.

"No No No , please , it hurts" she kept chanting those words until all I could hear was the rhythm of two hearts beating.

I went back to my room and tried to sleep , but I couldn't.  I have always seen my mom being strong with her head held high, so now having to witness her breaking down was heart wrenching.

The next morning mom had called a meeting with all the coucil members present. Piya and I sat at the seat just below that of my mom's.

Since she was the Queen of the Parshwa Kingdom, her seat was at the top most position with dad right next to her but right now dad was no where to be seen.

Then my mom snapped her fingers for which two guards bought in my dad with huge handcuffs on his wrists.

My heart broke for the sight infront of me , he looked like a prisoner.

My mom cleared her throat to gain everyone's attention as she said , "I, Amrita Singhania - Queen of the Parshwa Empire banish my mate Agastya Okeah from my kingdom. He is ought to live with the humans for the rest of his life. His immortal powers will remain with him to make his punishment more brutal. But he will never be able to shift into a merman."

She declared before heading back to her room.

Her voice didnt break or stutter and she looked completely okay with the situation but the tears threatening to fall from her eyes said otherwise.
