Rupali - The Mermaid

Taniya's POV

I was extremely grateful that he decided to listen to my part of the story. Because if he would have tried to run away, then I had to erase his memories and hide about myself from him. I didn't want that to happen because secrets and lies ruin relationships. I know very well about that since that is the reason my mother banished my dad from the kingdom.

So I took a deep breath and started explaining myself. "Merfolk consists of mermaids and mermans who have been living in the mer-world deep under the ocean since a long time. A few of us can change into a human on our wish but the rest can't. I am currently 264 years old but according to the human age , Im just 19 "

His eyes bulged out of the socket when I mentioned my age. I just blushed embarrassed knowing that Im as old as his great - great - great grandmother.

He nodded his head for me to continue.

"My maternal grandparents were both true blood mermaids so that made my mom and me a true blood mermaid too. But my dad's mother was a siren" I said.

"Aren't Sirens and Mermaids the same ?" He asked with confusion.

" No , merfolk and sirens may look similar but they aren't.  Mer people are less dangerous and can't use magic but sirens can. Sirens can allure people by their singing.  Its similar to hypnosis,  as a human will do anything and everything for a siren after listening to their voice. Sirens can also use powerful magic. They kill for pleasure and are extremely evil.

Seeing all these , my ancestral merfolk killed many sirens in a massive massacre. But a few of them escaped and have been living in a hiding. A few years ago thousands of sirens came to our territory and demanded land for themselves. So we gave away a part of our land to them but they started attacking the sailors in that region. We tried to stop them but we couldn't. So I had to take up the post of Chief Officer of Port of Panjim and restrict that lane to avoid further damage. This was the reason you lost your goods and had to visit me" I said looking down ashamed. 

"Tan" he called out. As I looked up, he said me to continue. 

"So my paternal grandmother used the help of a very powerful witch and created my father . She wanted a powerful female siren as a heir who can rule the other sirens as a queen. But since my dad was born - a male , he was transformed into a merman and she disowned him. Then a mer couple adopted him and raised him. But those siren genes were still trapped inside him and then it was passed on to his firstborn female child, which is me. But since I also had trueblood mermaid genes, I didnt completely transform into a siren. I retained both mermaid and siren genes and became the first hybrid to exist." I said and waited for his reaction.

Sandeep's POV

Just when I was getting adjusted to the fact that she was a mermaid, she dropped the bomb saying that she is also a siren.

But she also said that sirens are evil and kill for pleasure, does that mean Taniya is evil too ?

Its like she read my thoughts as she said ,"You might think that Im evil but I can control my siren very well and all those whom I have killed were criminals."

This helped me a bit.

"But since my grandmother used witch powers to create the siren inside me, I also have a few witchy powers in me" she added.

Great , she is a mermaid
She is a siren
And now a witch !
What else is she ? A HULK ??

I just nodded my head and said her to continue. 

"But my dad had no idea that he was a siren when he married my mom. He got to know about it when I was about 12 in human years. But he kept it a secret from my mom thinking that he would loose her if he revealed it. That didn't work out as planned because my mom soon found out that he kept secrets and lied to her. Moreover she was upset that I got the siren genes and I might turn evil. So she banished him from the mer world and cursed him that he would remain an immortal but will never be able to change into a merman"

I gasped hearing that her mom literally cursed him. Now I realize the reason why Mr.Okeah always had a blank face, he had to stay away from his family and the love of his life for these many years. I couldn't imagine the pain he had to go through but now he looks genuinely happy that he has his daughters.

"Why didnt your older brothers get the siren genes ?" I asked. If she had older siblings how aren't they sirens.

"In mer-world and sirens, only a female is seen fit and pure to rule a kingdom. The Queen has the most respect and powers followed by the king. Then comes the princess and then the prince. So basically after a queen, her daughter takes over the throne. Hence the genes were given to me." she replied.

"So you merfolk have a queen now?" I questioned. 

"Umm yeah" she said looking away.

Was she hiding something?

"Tan , what's it ?" I asked.

"My mom was the queen but then she left the position a few years ago so now Im the queen" she replied.

What the actual fuck !!!!
Taniya was the queen of all the mermaids ?

Im sure my jaw hit the floor for like the 100th time today.

"Wow, congrats I guess" I replied not knowing how else to react.

She just laughed and shook her head. But then I realized something.

"Wait , your dad was practically created to rule the sirens. But then you took over his position.  So are you supposed to be the Queen of Sirens too?" I asked

"Well actually Im their queen but I haven't taken up the position yet since I already had a lot on my plate." She replied.

So this beautiful woman who happens to be my girlfriend is the queen of all the creatures living underwater. Im so very proud of her.

"So... ??" She asked looking scared.

I pulled her towards me as she straddled on my lap and said, "These things wont matter until you remain the same. But Im proud for what you are. And I don't get any right to judge you but just know that we might be different but we feel the same for each other."

A huge smile formed on her lips and tears filled her eyes.  She wrapped her arms around my neck and hugged me tightly.  I hugged her back with the same force and we stayed in each other's embrace just like that. 

I still had many questions regarding Vihaan and his powers. Also about Taniya's powers but right now this was enough.
