What The Alpha King Wants

Out and about

I spent the whole night tossing and turning unable to sleep

I didn't hate Rafael but my feelings changed from liking to something else

He saved me instead of Stacey, he was there that night

With the whole lycan stuff, was he serious?
I didn't expect Rafael to be the lying type, I mean but come on it all sounds crazy

Someone brought me breakfast around sunrise, I haven't seen or spoken to Rafael since last night. I'm glad for the space

I've been sitting in the window seal starring out into space just thinking about my next move

What did I have to go back to anyway?

A mother who doesn't care, Lacey and her father living with us? No friends, No father

Maybe I am better off alone just as I started

"Hey raven, Rafael wanted me to take you on a walk to get some air" David's voice came from behind the door

I could tell this wasn't a question, it was an Order

"I'll come back in twenty"

I didn't bother responding because what good would it do

I heard footsteps slowly retreating from the door

If I was to leave where am I going to go?

By the time David came back, I was so deep in thought I didn't hear him come in

"Ready to go?" David's voice came bringing me deep out of my thoughts again

When I didn't look up from my lap and answer, he slowly walked closer

My eyes shoot up watching his every move

I know somehow that they wouldn't hurt me but for Christ's sake if Rafael was telling the truth then they were wolves or Lycans

He put his hands up in a surrender

"Raven I was only ordered to take you out for a walk" "Please"

His eyes practically begged me

Maybe it was the remorse of getting him in trouble with Rafael or something else. I slowly got up and walked toward David

Before walking out the door I grabbed my shoes and we walked silently downstairs

This place was huge and oddly quiet. Not even a pen drop or anything can be heard

"It's quiet because Rafael ordered everyone to leave and give you some space to adjust"

My eyes meet his wide eye

Did he just read my thoughts

He laughed a deep husky laugh

"No I can't read your thoughts, it's obvious what you were thinking. You do this thing where whatever you think is planned out on your face"

I was never one to have a poker face I know but was it that obvious

"Guess I won't be playing any poker"

The comment just slipped out of my mouth. I didn't mean to make a joke but it was just my way of trying to make the situation less awkward

David looked at me warmly and smiled

"I really hope we can be great friends Raven"

When we meet I thought we would be really good friends but now as our situation has complicated I'm not so sure, though he does seem like a really nice guy

I adverted my eyes back towards the floor, rubbing my arms

"It's Alright we'll eventually get there"

I didn't know rather to be mad at everyone or just Rafael. They all lied but it was Rafael who made the orders

We walked in through the  kitchen towards the door

"It's quite warm today so just let me know when you want to stop or come back in"

I nodded my head

We walked through the garden and along the trail. Everyone we walked by threw looks of amazement or disbelief. The one thing they all did was bow their heads

"They are bowing their heads because you are Rafael's mate and also Luna queen or soon-to-be"

What the hell makes me so special to be Rafael's mate

"Why" was all I could say. It came out small and weak

I wanted to break down and cry. Internally I was screaming and pulling at my hair

"I don't think I should answer that. Rafael would prefer if you talked to him about things"

"NO" I raised my voice "screw that asshole"

I didn't want  to see or speak to him, I hated myself just for not really hating him

There was a small bench that he gestured to

"Raven really he's all not that bad," David said taking his seat

I quietly sat a distance on the bench staring into the bright open field

"He really cares for you deeply than you could ever know"

"Yeah and I guess kidnapping someone is the way to show it"

"Listen Raven, we have a different way of doing things. It may be crazy or even creepy to you but for us it's normal or we have no choice but in your and Rafael's case, it's abnormal. I've never heard of an alpha lycan having a human mate let alone a king one at that, it's just unheard of"

I crossed my arms pissed off

I didn't care about whatever he was talking about, I didn't ask for this or want whatever it is that they are offering

"Well I didn't ask for this"

"Raven we don't get an option like humans on who we mate with, it's just when you see her and catch just the slightest bit of her scent you know. She's the one who you're going to spend the rest of your life with, she's the yin to your yang if that's what you want to call it. She's your other half and together you are complete. There's only her. You would die for her, be anything for her."

I looked at him as he said each word, his eyes held endearment and longing

"Have you found your mate?"

He looked at the ground with a small smile that simmer with hope

"No, but one day I know when the time is right I will"

We sat in silence for the rest of the time starring off into the garden

It was beautiful and peaceful here.

The warmth of the sun felt nice as the wind softly blew

"It might take some getting use to but you will really like it here raven"

"That's the thing, I don't want to get used to anything. I just want to leave"

He nodded, standing up and looking spaced out for a second

"I have to go handle something really quick, I can walk you back to the house or you can stay here"

"I'll stay here"

"Okay but if you want to leave before I come back just follow the path back to the house"

He ran off in another direction and I was left alone with my thoughts

This now could be my opportunity to make a run for it but what would be my next move? Hitch hike back? I'm in Britain for crying out loud

I ran my hands through my hair and down my face

"Well Raven glad to see someone's day is just as terrible as mine"

My head snapped up to the first of two voices I dreaded

My heartbeat quickened as my face made a frown

All I saw was red after that
