"Okay Raven, everything's healing nicely. Don't spread yourself thin and tear the scaring" he examined my side "You don't need to come back for the stitches to get taken out. They will fall out on their own"
"Whatever you say Doc" I muttered the words under my breath
"How are you feeling? Any thirst?"
"Yes"
"On a scale of 1-10 how bad is it?"
"Maybe a 7"
His brows furrowed "Okay what do I want to do since Rafael is in no such state to give any blood again? I'm going to prescribe some suppressants. What these will do is try to suppress that hunger or at least slow it down. We mainly use these to hold off on the transformation of young wolves if it some type of injuries occur, but I would also like to give these a try for you to see if they will do anything for your thirst and transformation until you and Rafael are in a better state physically"
"Will the process hurt?"
"Yes and no. Werewolves and Lycans have a right to pain tolerance. They spend most of their lives preparing for the transformations, there's no way to tell what that would do to someone half human"
"Thank you"
"Listen Raven I know you were kind of sprung into this life and everything right now is probably hell, but know that it isn't all like this and things will get better"
He handed me a tissue
Sobs racked my body as I hurried my face in my hands
"I'll go get those for you"
My sobs briefly echoed through the room before the Doc came back.
"Why don't you head back to Rafael? The more time you spend around him, the better for both of you"
Mrs. Stone sat by her son's bed morning and night only to leave for necessities.
Rafael hasn't woken since last week when he saved my life. I had one full moon left. Whatever happened was going to happen again.
The room was mostly quiet with just me and Mrs. Stone. Occasionally David would come in and out to check for any updates.
Everyone was worried. The tension all around hung thick as we waited for Rafael to wake up. If Rafael did not wake up, that would leave a big opportunity for Blake to come in. The last thing anyone needed was a madman running the werewolves.
Mrs. Stone hasn't said one word to me. Part of me thinks she may think I am to blame for Rafael's condition.
Maybe she was right
Maybe if I had tried more to get through to Stacey nobody would've gotten hurt
That magnate pull I felt towards Rafael was only stronger. The longer time I spent away from him was like being stuck in the gut.
There had to be something I could do for Rafael.
"Dear, I am going to go get some tea. I shall be back soon" Mrs.Stone said without bothering to spearing me a look
Rafael lay in his bed. He was healing slowly but nicely. Nobody knew why the healing was taking so long. An Alpha King was supposed to heal quickly, but being a week is uncharted territory for everyone.
I reached my hand out about to touch Rafael's arm that was in a sling before Mrs.Stone walked back In stopping me mid-reach
"Don't" she stated
She took her seat back across from me on Rafael's left side
"You know I've always thought when my son found his mate that we would be close. That's what any mother would wish for. I think every mother hopes of being close to her soon to be daughter in law"
