Pulling on the strap of Noya's bag, you caught your boyfriend's attention as you followed him down the school hallway. Turning to see what you grabbed his attention for, Noya slowed down his pace to walk next to you.

"What's up?" Noya questioned as you walked with him, adjusting the strap on your shoulder as you walked.

"We should tell the team later today," you answered without making eye contact, nerved by how he might respond.

Noya pondered your suggestion for a moment, hesitant to respond in concern for what you were thinking. Seeing no reason to dispute your suggestion, Noya agreed, "Sure, after practice?"

You nodded your head in agreement, realizing that the team might be distracted by the announcement you two were going to make.

Approaching the door to your classroom, you commented, "This is gonna be good."

Chuckling, Noya agreed with you and stepped inside your classroom, you following closely behind. Once you were seated at your desk, you looked up at the time on the clock, waiting for your first class to start.

Soon the bell rang and your teacher entered the classroom for your first class. Unexcited with how the school day had already begun, you fiddled with a loose screw on the leg of your desk as your teacher began her lesson.

After your first two classes of the day had ended, you were bored out of your mind. Nothing seemed to keep you entertained as you aimlessly doodled on a blank sheet of paper in front of you.

Pushing your pen into the paper, you doodled a few pictures of whatever was on your mind and scribbled in any leftover spaces between images.

Setting down your pen, you folded your arms atop your desk and rested your head on your hands, staring out the window as you watched a grey cloud roll by, slowly fading into the distance.

Daydreaming was not necessarily something you did very often, yet you found yourself doing so much more frequently lately.

Usually it was about aimless, mindless nonsense that was generally irrelevant and meant nothing to you. However, today you found yourself daydreaming about what would have happened if you and Yamaguchi ended up together.

It wasn't too extensive, just the pleasurable thought of him and you together in a romantic setting.

You were walking down a path at a park, the sun was setting and you were holding his hand as you walked. Yamaguchi pulled you closer to him as he gently hummed the tune to a song that you had been blasting in the car just a bit ago.

Gesturing towards a nearby bench, Tadashi suggested you sat down. Sitting on the bench next to Yamaguchi, you gently squeezes his hand as you rested your head on his shoulder.

Catching yourself in these fantasies, you attempted to shake them away as you redirected your attention to something else.

Suddenly, the bell rang, indicating that it was time for your next class; Japanese Literature. Shoving your pen, sheet of paper, and whatever else you had on your desk, you cleared the desktop in preparation for the next class.

You felt a gentle tap on your shoulder from behind and turning around, you brought your attention to Noya who had tapped you to get your attention.

"Yes, Yū. What is it?" you asked, crossing your arms on the backrest of the chair.

Noya was about to say something when he paused, fully comprehending what you just said.

"Did you just call me by my first name?"

Taking note of his full expression, you noticed an excited gleam in his eyes, hidden by the passionate dare Noya always had.

"Yeah, sorry. Do you not want me to call you that?" you replied in gentle fear for making him upset.

"No, I like it," Noya smiled.

"Alright. What were you going to tell me?"

Pondering for a moment, Noya tried to recall what he was going to say. However, he had forgotten what his statement was to be and shrugged.

"I forgot," he replied bluntly after a while.

Smiling, you shook your head and turned around in your seat to face the front of the classroom.

After school, Noya, Tanaka, and you exited the school building and made your way towards the gymnasium.

On your way there you noticed a stray Frisbee on the ground. Running towards it, you picked it up and turned around to toss it at one of the two boys who were with you.

"(Y/n), don't do it," Tanaka warned, a smile creeping upon his cheeks.

"I'm eleven so shut the fuck up," you replied, earning a sudden burst of giggles from him.

Gesturing at Noya for him to catch the Frisbee, you tossed the disc at him and he easily caught it. Dropping the toy on the ground, Noya jogged over to where you were, Tanaka following closely behind.

"Alright, you ready?" Noya asked you, grabbing your hand and intertwining his fingers with yours.

"Ready as I'll ever be," you sighed.

"And I'm third-wheeling again," Tanaka whined from behind you. You and Noya both chuckled at the statement as Noya glanced over his shoulder to make eye contact with Tanaka, causing him to laugh even more.

Once the three of you arrived at the gym entrance, Noya let go of your hand and grabbed for the door handle. Pulling the sliding door open, he allowed you space to enter first as he stepped aside and perked up as you thanked him.

Stepping inside, the smell of leather volleyballs and freshly cleaned wood infiltrated your sense of smell.

Scanning the large room, you found your fellow coach, Ukai, standing on the sideline on the opposite side of the gym and made your way towards him.

"Hey," Ukai called your name as you waved in greetings.

Standing next to the head coach, you observed the team warm up before Takeda interrupted them to begin practicing drills.

"I'm sleepy," you commented as players got into two lines to practice receives.

"I bet, you're a highschool student with a fucked up sleep schedule," Ukai scoffed as you rolled your eyes.

Jogging a few paces in front of you, you picked up a stray volleyball and tossed it at Coach Ukai. Easily catching the ball, Ukai threw it back at you and shook his head.

"What?" you asked as you dropped the volleyball on the floor and returned next to where Ukai was standing.

"Nothing," he sighed as the two of you returned to your task of observing practice, jumping in whenever needed for assistance and direction.

To be continued...
