Violet woke up in the morning similar to the way she woke up on the couch; Ben's arms wrapped around her waist.
She smiled slightly breathing in Ben's scent. It was like couples in movies, except they weren't dating. Far from it. There isn't a word to describe there relationship. It was strange. One minute Ben would be extremely mad and the next the two would would be laughing together.
Ben smelt like cigarettes, lavender (which was the scent of Violets body wash), and cologne. It was an interesting mix, but somehow it smelt good on Ben.
Violet crawled out of bed and got some frosted flakes from the kitchen, pouring them in a bowl and headed towards the windows.
She peered outside threw a small slit in the curtains and gave a small gasp.
There were piles of rifles stacked on top of each other and a few dead bodies scattered about.
That was to be expected though, it was a war zone.
Violet thought back to when Lee went to war.
2 years earlier;
It had been a few months since Lee had been deployed. He got to come home for a week since he had been tremendous help in the field. Coming home was special because not many people were aloud to.Lee had been dropped off a mile away from where Violet had lived since Violet was located near snipers from the other army.
Lee was grinning from ear to ear as he ran the last blocks to his house.
Violet saw her brother a block or two away when a bang rang loud and clear through the air, and as if in slow motion, Violet watched as a bullet penetrated Lee's chest and he collapsed falling backwards.
Violet felt her eyes sting with tears and she bit the inside of her lip to keep from crying. She wasn't going to cry over someone who had harassed her in so many ways; even if it was her brother who she loved.
"Violet?" Ben asked, his voice was raspy from sleep, "Are you okay?"
Violet nodded walking into Ben's open arms and wrapped her arms around his toned back.
"You can talk to me you know?" Ben whispered. Violet nodded.
"I want to tell you because, believe it or not, I trust you, but I don't want you to laugh at me or look at me differently." Violet sighed as they sat down together on the couch.
Violet felt like she was at a therapist office, and tension filled the air surrounding the two.
Ben grabbed her hand, reassuringly and smiled weakly, "I can help you."
Violet broke the eye contact between them and took a deep breath, "Okay so..."
