13// Dry Your Eyes

When Violet broke eye contact Ben knew whatever she was going to say was very important. Violet always made eye contact when she was talking to people.

"Okay, when I was fifteen my brother, Lee, starting abusing me." Violet paused for a moment and Ben could already see that her eyes were welling up.

"I know that, love." Ben whispered running the back of her hand with his thumb.

"He um..." Violets voice broke and she buried her head in Ben's chest, "He sexually abused me."

Ben unintentionally gasped and wrapped his arms around Violet and rubbed her back.

He could feel her tears dampening his t-shirt and his heart wrenched. He couldn't stand to see her in so much pain.

He was disgusted in her brother in a way that was indescribable. You never touch anyone without permission, especially if they're your sister. Your own blood.

He kissed Violets hair and even though it was only twelve in the afternoon but all of the sudden it felt like midnight.

"I was always so scared that when he got home he would abuse me, but I couldn't tell anyone, because who would believe me?" Violet gasped for air between her sobs.

"I saw him get shot too. I saw him die. I feel like everything was my fault. I still cried for him when he died, even after everything he had done to me. "

"It's okay, love. It's okay." Ben whispered. "I won't let anyone hurt you."

"Will you lay down with me?" Violet whispered.

Ben nodded and Violet led Ben to her bedroom and put on her My Chemical Romance Vinyl May Death Never Stop You.

Ben laid down on her bed and Violet did the same pulling the covers up to her chin wrapper her arms around Ben's torso; Ben mimicked her actions.

Ben couldn't help but notice her red puffy eyes and how broken she looked. He wanted to help her so badly put he knew he couldn't.

Violet hummed quietly to Cancer and looked up at Ben through her eye lashes; Ben peered down at her.

He leaned in and her eyes fluttered closed.
