Breakfast was awkward and there was visible tension in the air that surrounded them.

"What's wrong, Violet?" Ben spoke up making Violet almost choke on her food.

"What?" Vi asked calming her nerves.

"Vi, you know what I'm talking about, you practically ignored me this whole morning. What did I do? I thought we were fine." Ben whined, confessing his feelings.

Violet sighed and ran a hand through her hair, "It was just a stupid dream I had. I'm sorry, Ben."

She reached across she table and intertwined her fingers with Ben's making him blush a light shade of pink.

All of the sudden a large crash reverberated around the house and rain poured down from the sky.

Violet let out a small scream and ran into her room as the lights started flickering violently.

Ben ran after her wanting to know what was wrong and found her sitting on her bed under the covers.

"Violet?" Ben questioned lifting up her covers and climbing in next to her.

"Yes?" Violet replied, picking at her finger nails to hide the blush that crept across her cheeks.

"Why are you under your covers, love?" Ben managed to grab one of Violet's hands reassuringly as she glanced up at him.

"I don't like storms." She whispered as she began to blush furiously again.

"It's okay, I'll protect you. I promise."

"Pinky promise?" She asked like a kindergartner, a small smile escaping on her pink lips.

"Pinky promise." Their pinkies linked and they smiled at each other as a large bang erupted from the sky, shaking the house slightly.

Violet let out another small scream as she buried her head in Ben's chest.

A loud creaking noise ascended through the house and Ben subconsciously tightened his grip around Violet.

Ben slowly started lifting the covers from over his head and started climbing out of the bed.

"No, Ben stay here, please," Violet whispered gripping tightly on Ben's wrist, "I would rather be hurt than have you be hurt."

Violet climbed off of the bed as well and snuck into the hallway as quietly as she could.

Ben grabbed her hand as he followed quietly behind her.

A gust of wind blew violently through the house as something was slammed against the wall, making Violet jump.

After many moments passed Ben finally came forward and found that no one was in the house and slammed the door shut and bolted the door.

Meow. A cat sat in the middle of the house, it's fur matted down with rain, and sticks and leaves polluting it's black and gray coat.

"Oh, Ben! Look at the kitty!" Violet cooed scooping up the kitty in her arms; cradling it like a precious baby. "Let's get you cleaned up, huh?"

Violet passed the small kitten to Ben after much reluctancy, and she cut up some scraps of chicken and fed it to cat, as well as getting it water.

"Ben, will you watch it, I'm going to run a bath."

"Vi, cats hate baths."

"Okay, then you can help me." Violet smiled smugly and turned on the bath water and plugged the drain.

"Come here little kitty." Vi squealed as the cat finished his food, "It's bath time."

Ben groaned and massaged his temples, "This should be... Interesting."
