A/N: Part 1 of preparing for the arrival of Harley Jane!
"Where should we start?! Um ok...ok, I think the bed we have in the room across from our bedroom is perfect, the room is perfect! It's got a great view too and so we need toys, clothes, decorations, painting....and Oh I have some ideas!!", I enthuse making everyone laugh at my excitement, I think I've been possessed by Eric, and I don't mind in the least.
Currently, we are in the studio still just finished up with album stuff & are just now hanging around, with me sitting in Eric's lap and Paul in Gene's. I can't begin to tell you how much to have Paul & Gene's support and my husband's unconditional love & support during this time.
"Tommy, I think that the room across the hall from ours would be perfect baby! And the bed is fantastic, just need some more furniture too." Eric kisses me on the cheek just catching the corner of my lips making me smile.
"Now what were your ideas, Tommy?", Paul asks eagerly leaning forward and almost falls out of Gene's lap in his excitement.
"Well as far as painting, my favorite colors are purple & blue, but I also like black & silver....and I wonder if Harley would like Kiss? Maybe a kind of kiss mural over her bed, like us watching over her & protecting her kind of thing. Some bookshelves, art stuff etc....", I muse.
"Oh, I can defienetly work with that Tom and Genie your gonna help me paint.... Tommy don't worry about a thing! We can get this done! And Your daughter will love it.", I have the best friends and bandmates in the world!
"Of course, we've got you Tommy! Now in the meantime, why don't we all go out to eat and all?", I roll my eyes playfully.... figures Gene would want to eat, and I am sure dessert would be involved and him & Paul would probably find a way to burn it off.
"Well, we do need to eat, so getting something to eat to sounds fine. And thanks guys so much for helping me out with all this & being here for me. Truly thank you.", I whisper emotion coating my tone. I feel Eric tilt my face towards his & he brings me into a kiss.
Finally, we do all go out somewhere to eat.... Gene of course orders dessert first, along with half the Menu...but surprisingly he shares with his Husband: Paul. I whisper to Eric, "Are you believing this? Gene sharing food. I love him, but the guy never shares food!"
"Like you often say they'll probably work it off later.... should we remind them not to screw in our house while they're helping us with our daughter's room?", Eric whispers back after taking a bite of his burger.
"Ugh, it wouldn't do any good to tell them not to screw around.... it's all good, but you best believe I'm SO making them clean it up!", I quip but my heart melts at Eric referring to Harley as 'our daughter', I truly have the best husband in the universe! Dinner ends and we head to our respective homes, with Gene & Paul promising to show up tomorrow afternoon with Paint & everything to get started on Harley's bedroom.
Later that night in bed, with me resting in Eric's arms I think about how much my life has changed in so short a time, me finally opening up to my husband, as well as my friends/bandmates and it's all thanks to an innocent and neglected little girl: my daughter Harley. I haven't even met her yet, she's coming.... but this all feels so surreal. I am determined to give her a better life than what I know of her life with my ex-wife and Eric is too and that means so much more to me than I can ever say...speaking of Eric...
"Tommy? You ok.... You're thinking about everything aren't you? Harley, me...Gene & Paul.... Tommy I am here for you always, no matter what.... I meant what I said in my vows to you my spacely love. Now let's go to sleep. We've got a full day tomorrow and the next few days...but I am with you every step of the way."
We both drift off together and when we wake up the next morning, surprisingly at the same time...which is highly amusing to both my husband and I we get started on stuff before Gene & Paul come over later this afternoon.
Our first stop is the grocery store, got to feed the Demon and his mate and all that. Then Eric & I head to a furniture store and find all kinds of furniture that would be perfect for Harley's bedroom and it's going to be delivered in time for her arrival too, so thrilled about that by the way. Eric & I are having a blast...I am having a blast & the fact that I have my amazing and beloved husband on board and so supportive of me....it means so much more than I can ever say. I glance at my watch, and we still have time to make another stop and so Eric & I head to a bookstore to buy books and some small toys for Harley.
"Hey Tom...look at this!", Eric holds up a Hello Kitty Kiss plushie and it's the Cat one. I roll my eyes, but good-naturedly.
"Really the cat one first? Do they have the spaceman? Oh, looks like they DO! May as well get all four, got to have a complete set Afterall!" Eric laughs but brings me into a Kiss and before long we are done and head back to our house & just in time...Gene & Paul will arrive at any moment, and we will get underway.
In the meantime, Eric & I get everything sorted and ready to put in Harley's room and then we hear the doorbell ring.... it's time to Rise to It.
Oh Harley, my little girl...I promise you; you will want for nothing and will never, ever know anything but unconditional love & support & together you & I will heal together.
