There were a lot of things Lisa looked forward to while being in middle school. In the books she read, the protagonists almost always happened to be high school students with the most enjoyable adventures to experience, which was why Lisa automatically assumed life would get to the most exiting part when she enters high school as well. She still vividly remembered talking to her mother about all the things she wanted to do, from finding friends for life to deeply falling in love with someone to becoming prom queen to going to university with all of her beloved ones. Not once during those innocent times did she consider her standards for high school too unrealistic and her mother smiling at her while she babbled about it was not helping the realism, that was actually bound to take place.
Seeing that high school was not the adventure she read about, was not as disappointing to Lisa as she thought. Yes, there was no boy she could potentially fall in love with and there was no such thing as a big friend group to go party with, but she still managed to find good friends, though they lived in an entirely different world. And most importantly, she was allowed to have these silly fantasies while her mother just gave her an encouraging smile and approving nods. The memory she truly treasured was not her dream, but the fact that her mother never told her it was a far fetched one and whenever Lisa thought about this there was warmth surrounding her half patched up heart.
Her mother was not around anymore, but at least she had her for a good amount of time.
When eventful things happened in her life, the kind of things she would tell her mother about, Lisa unknowingly lifted her head and stared at the sky. Hoping that somewhere out there, her mother smiled back just like she remembered, her warm and loving smile that always made her look a lot younger than she actually was.
Lisa briefly checked up on her surroundings. The guests were gathered across the hallways and the living room, there weren't as many as she imagined there would be. The main cast however, consisting of the school's big shots that she 'befriended', each sat on one of the three couches that accompanied the coffee table in the middle. On one couch Seulgi, Taehyung and Jennie talked to each other, Jimin laid down on one for himself and the last one was for Namjoon, Jungkook and her. Apparently, Jin would not make it to the party, while Yerim and Hoseok were on their way.
But that was not the problem.
Taehyung really challenged her acting abilities and Jungkook did not make it easier for her by playing his role incredibly well. He was her boyfriend in this crazy universe and according to Taehyung a quite affectionate one. When he implied that, Lisa lifted her eyebrow out of pure irritation - he fought with her just a while ago, Jungkook can't possibly play the sweet boyfriend without leaving a hint of hatred towards her.
He took her by absolute surprise when they reached the couch and he gently pulled her down on his lap. Aside from the fact, that Lisa never had that kind of intimacy with a boy, she was thankful that he didn't touch her all too much. While she sat on his lap, swallowing the urge to bury her face in sand, he only held one of her hands and once pulled her skirt down to prevent an accident - even then being careful not to touch her inappropriately. He did enough to make them look convincing as a couple, but did not cross a line by making her extremely uncomfortable.
