Hell broke down the moment Lisa came home and although she expected as much, it was overwhelming regardless. Her grandmother would lecture her about not leaving home without a decent breakfast, drinking water rather than coffee and taking breaks in between study sessions. Lisa knew she had to change those bad habits of hers someday, but as of the moment they did not seem that bad to her.
Lisa had to scoff while lying on her bed, waiting for her grandmother, who mentioned coming to her room later on, and concealed her vision by putting her hand over her eyes. She had the nerve to argue with someone about the value of life, then turn around and do the opposite by being oblivious to the danger she could possibly face because of her bad habits. Sliding her hand from eyes down to the mouth, the whole scenario replayed in her head once more and left the bitter taste in her mouth.
No, him and me are two completely different cases.
There were several people dealing with the same habits as her ones, Lisa just happened to be weaker in terms of control. If she sincerely decided to restructure her life, she would be able to overcome anything.
But Jeon Jungkook...
Lisa let out a deep sigh as if that would be able to make her understand him a little more. He seemed almost densely oblivious to his surroundings, but she could not exactly blame him for that. People have different perspectives on things, just like she thought of him as oblivious he might be calling her crazy in his mind. She could only hope for him to not be mad at her, after all Lisa only followed her instinct. Furrowing her eyebrows, she recalled the unanswered questions and let them slowly take over her brain again.
Was the car driver trying to kill Jungkook? If that was the case, why? How did her phone remind her of that event at the exact time?
Many thoughts haunted her, until she heard her grandmother enter the room carrying a tray on one hand and closing the door behind her with the free hand. Without a word she put the tray on the bedside table and motioned Lisa to take the tea cup on it.
"Do I really have to drink that? I can't stand the smell of calming tea, it's-", Lisa complained, but quickly stopped when she saw the strict expression on her grandmother's face. She looked like she would kick Lisa on the spot, if that made her drink the tea. Lisa, not ready to take a single blow, took the tea cup in both of her hands, drinking the tea while maintaining eye contact with her grandmother - to furthermore prove she was indeed drinking the tea.
There was a moment of silence sweeping through the room, both of them chose to remain that way at least for a while. Lisa carefully put the cup down and scanned her grandmother's facial expression, weirdly the bitter aftertaste and awful smell of the tea weren't a bother to her anymore.
"I'm sorry for worrying you all the time", Lisa sincerely apologized, taking her grandmother's hand in both of hers. She was such a hardworking woman, the effort was visible by only looking at her hands, and yet she took care of Lisa like it was no big deal. She was the only family Lisa had left in this world, her grandmother was the only person keeping her from being an orphan and she could not be more grateful for that. One person was enough for her to feel at ease.
