"May she rest in peace"

"She was a warm-hearted person"

"None of us saw that coming"

Lisa just nodded, eyeing the sunset with a blank expression, as a few people passed by giving their condolences. She already lost count of how many times, their words seemed to repeat. Despite the repetitiveness, their words didn't quite reach her heart, she felt very little sincerity in them. On the other hand, she didn't want to blame or judge anyone, after all they weren't as close to the her as Lisa was.

Even though it was her mother that died, even though she would have wished for her to live longer - at least there were more than two people attending the funeral. The only thing Lisa regretted, was not getting more people to attend. Lisa found it pretty natural to want something like that, having a lot of people present and pray for your soul, that had left the earth.

The thought of staring from above only to witness less than a handful of people praying, sounded cruel to Lisa. She did not want her mother to feel like she was an unimportant part of the world, when in reality she represented Lisa's whole world.

Undoubtedly, Lisa loved her mother to the point, that made a life without her seem unwelcoming. However she had to bundle her strength and go on with her life as that was the purpose of living, standing up after falling down. And though funerals gave the opportunities to cry to heart's content, Lisa promised herself not to cry anymore. She promised herself not to waste any tears as they won't reach her mother and bring her back. Lisa just had to deal with the realism, life made her witness the harshest way possible.

"Are you alright, little lamb?", she heard her grandmother's weak voice nearing from behind, until her fragile self was standing next to Lisa, who looked like a tower next to her grandmother.

A weak smile formed on Lisa's lips as she took her grandmother's hand, leading her to a bench nearby so both of them could sit down for a bit.

Rough times passed by and they probably wouldn't disappear right away, but having someone by her side, gave Lisa more than enough motivation to do better. She wanted to be someone memorable.

"I should be the one asking that, you gave birth and raised her after all", Lisa responded and watched a little smile form on her grandmother's mouth. It wasn't a delighted, but rather a bitter one.

"You know, my little lamb, ever since I gave birth to your mother there was only one prayer I repeated over and over again, my biggest wish was for that to come true", her voice held a big amount of regret, but enough strength to not burst into tears. "as selfish as it sounds, I prayed for me to die several times beforehand just so I don't have to witness her death"

Lisa let go of her hand and put it on her back to affectionately brush over it. Most people would argue about how there was a difference in emotions between being a mother or a daughter, but she came to appreciate both. Both, being the child growing up with the affection of that certain someone and being the one raising the child with affection held a big value.

"But you see, ever since little lamb exists, I stopped wishing for that and actually started wanting to live longer"

Suddenly, her grandmother pulled out some kind of snow globe from under her many clothing layers, a snow globe that had a purple star in the middle of it and snow underneath. She handed Lisa the snow globe.

"Grandma..."

"I'm alright my dear, the fact that I get to be by your side - not leaving you alone - makes me the happiest", she interrupted, wanting to give Lisa a sincere answer. "What about you, little lamb, what is your wish?"

Lisa gazed at the snow globe, holding it with both hands not exactly knowing, why her grandmother gifted her such a beautiful present. But for some reason, it didn't feel like an ordinary snow globe, not even looking like one. As if magic surrounded it.

There was only one thing Lisa wanted more than anything else in the world, if she had to answer her grandmother's question.

Lisa closed her eyes, tightening her hold on the snow globe for some reason and spoke.

"I want to do something... meaningful"

 meaningful"
