Chapter 29

Kirito's Pov
Me and Eugeo had stopped at the side of a highway to rest, I was cooking and teaching Eugeo how to work the oven, he was so amazed by it, he looked like a child "ok it's done" I said, Eugeo went and sat down at the table, I put two plates on the table one for me and one for him "thankyou Kirito'' he said smiling, he's so cute. I nodded and we began to eat "so, the stars always look better when your away from the city so maybe we can stargaze tonight" I said, Eugeo nodded "sounds great" he answered, I smiled and noticed a bit of rice on his lip "hey Eugeo, you got some rice here" I said pointing to his face, he used a napkin to wipe his face "is it gone?" He asked, I giggled and shook my head, I had an idea of how to make him flustered. I leaned over the table and kissed him, I licked his bottom lip and pulled away, he stared at me in shock, his face turned completely red "k-Kirito!" He covered his face with his hands, I laughed "aww, so cute" I said, Eugeo muttered some words that are not known to the dictionary. He stood up and took his plate to the sink "your such an idiot!" He said cleaning his plate and then putting it away, I smirked "well, I'm your idiot so…. Your kinda stuck with me" Eugeo turned to face me "I'm ok with that" he pat my head. I blushed and froze for a moment, I shook my head and got up to clean my plate, as I was cleaning, Eugeo hugged me from behind, he rested his head on my back, I smiled "are you tired Eugeo?" I asked "No…. Just happy" he answered. I put the plate in the cabinet and turned to face him, I cupped his face in my hands "I'm glad…." I said in a soft voice, he smiled and rested his head on my chest "Kirito…. You have a heart beat again" he whispered, I smiled "Yui said the heart would be the last thing to form, so I guess the process is complete" I said, Eugeo nodded and let me go. He went to the door of the van "well, come on" he said, I followed him out of the van. We sat on the grass outside, I was right the stars are stunning.

Eugeo's Pov
As I looked up at the stars I thought about Kirito, they just remind me of him, shimmering in the darkness, little specs of hope. Kirito grabbed my hand and I looked at him, he was smiling at me, I returned the smile, how did I get this lucky? To be with Kirito…. Kirito put his other hand on my face and leaned in closer to me. He pressed his lips against mine, I smiled into the kiss. We pulled away and looked at the stars again. "Oh how romantic~" we heard a voice say, Kirito quickly stood up and looked around, Kirigaya showed himself "you…." Kirito growled, I stood up "Eugeo, get inside" Kirito said to me, I shook my head "no! I lost you once I can't do it again!" I yelled, Kirigaya clapped "you two make me sick" he said, Kirito looked at me "Eugeo! Please, go inside!" He yelled, I slowly went into the van. I watched as Kirigaya launched himself towards Kirito, Kirito dodged. They fought for a while "damn it…. Kirito…." I looked around the van, I picked up a kitchen knife. I looked at it for a moment "he's always protecting me, now I'll return the favour" I ran outside with the knife. Kirito saw me "Eugeo no!" He yelled, I ignored him and attacked Kirigaya, he dodged my attacks. He grabbed my wrist and used his other hand to pushed my elbow, I heard a loud crack as I felt an unbearable pain in my arms, I dropped the knife and held my arm, I looked around but didn't see Kirito, instead I saw Kirigaya walking towards me, I just glared at him in anger "you made a mistake trying to fight me, now you-" I saw a knife go right through his chest, Kirigaya looked shocked and so was I. he dropped to the ground and Kirito was standing behind him, he looked angry, really angry, he kicked Kirigaya away from me, Kirigaya landed on his back with the knife still in his chest it was pushed deeper "y-you…." He tried to speak, Kirito walked up to him and grabbed him by his shirt, he pulled Kirigaya up so they were face to face "I warned you" he then grabbed the knife and twisted it, Kirigaya screamed in pain but Kirito didn't stop. I slowly stood up holding my arm "K-kirito…." I walked over to him slowly, Kirigaya's screams were horrifying. I got to Kirito and hugged him, with both of my arms despite the pain, Kirito still didn't stop "Kirito! Stop!" I yelled, Kirito froze for a moment. He dropped Kirigaya and stared at him horror, Kirigaya laughed a little "face it Kirito…. Your a monster" he said in a horse voice, I let go of Kirito and held my arm again, the pain was absolutely agonising "E-Eugeo…." Kirito looked back at me. He looked at his hands, they were covered in blood "I did it again…." He whispered. He sat down next to Kirigaya whose body was now motionless, he checked Kirigaya's pulse "he's dead…."

Kirito's Pov
I did it again, I did it again, I'm a monster, I don't deserve Eugeo, I don't deserve anything. I heard a sudden thud, I looked over at Eugeo, he had collapsed and was now unconscious, I looked at his arm, it was clearly broken, I could see one of his bones sticking out. I pulled myself together and stood up, that break looks so painful, I picked him up gently and walked back to the van leaving Kirigaya's body behind. He probably has my DNA so if I leave him here the world will think I'm dead and I can be free, from everyone except Kikuoka. Eugeo never existed in the first place so no one will know if he disappeared. I got into the van and rested Eugeo in the small bed at the back "what do I do about this?" I asked nobody, I sighed "they would have gone to Agils bar, get in, get help and get out" I said to myself. I went back to the front of the van and sat in the driver's seat, I started up the van and started to drive towards the city where Agils bar was located. Tears continued to pour down my face, Eugeo deserves so much better, so why did he choose me? He could still be in the underworld with someone much better, living a happy and peaceful life, so why? Why did he choose to be with me?.
