(Y/N) let out a quiet sigh, shoving her hands in her pocket as Willow ran away from her to retrieve the ball that (Y/N) had thrown, "And now you're supposed to bring it back. That's how the game works." She told the dog, sighing again when Willow started to run circles around her, refusing to drop the ball that she held tightly in her mouth.

"How's fetch going?" Maria asked with a chuckle, walking over to stand beside (Y/N) as they both watched Willow accidentally drop the ball into the deep snow, causing her to look around in confusion when it disappeared from her sight. (Y/N) let out a small chuckle as well and shook her head, a smirk crossing over her face as Willow pounced at the snow, swatting at it with her paws, "I'd like to say that she's getting better at it. But let's be honest." She replied, motioning towards Willow who had finally found the ball, having to shove her head in the snow to get it.

Maria laughed again, catching Willow's attention, "She's not that bad at it." She commented as Willow ran over to Maria, her tail wagging happily. Maria smiled down at the dog and rubbed her ears before motioning for them to follow her, "Come on, we gotta go save Joel from Tommy and Ellie. They've been begging for Joel to let them help cook." (Y/N) chuckled and followed her, shaking her head gently as she thought about what they were celebrating.

Maria said that it was something called Christmas, where people give gifts to each other and eat a bunch of food.
(Y/N) didn't really get it but she tried her best to learn about the holiday, even making an effort to walk down to Jackson's library in hopes to learn more. She had to admit though, she did like the decorations that had been put up everywhere. It made the small town gain a comforting warmth despite how cold it was.

What she didn't like was the stress of having to get everyone gifts, even though they insisted that they didn't want anything. Currently, hidden up in her room were four gifts, each of them poorly wrapped. For Joel, she found him some new wood carving tools, because his were literally falling apart. For Ellie, she had found two of the next comic books in her Savage Starlight collection, she didn't really want to admit how she had found those relics. And finally for Tommy and Maria, she had gotten them a basket filled with various snacks and berries that she had made/grew herself.

Jogging up the front steps to (Y/N) and Willow's official new home, aka Joel and Ellie's house, Maria, (Y/N), and Willow quickly made their way inside, their noses instantly picking up on the smell of burning food, "Oh no." (Y/N) mumbled as she quickly took her jacket and boots off, hanging her coat up on the rack before placing her boots on the ground underneath it. Maria ran a hand down her face before quickly making her way into the kitchen with Willow and (Y/N) following her, "What the fuck is going on?" She exclaimed, her eyes narrowed as she took in the mess that had been created in the five minutes that she had been gone.
