30 Minutes Earlier
(Y/N) sighed tiredly and pulled down her mask, running a dirty hand over her face to wipe away the sweat that had gathered on the bridge of her nose. Apparently, Calgary wasn't all that welcoming of newcomers, it was constantly filled with bandits who had god complexes.
Given by the amount of dead, non-infected bodies that layed around the city, (Y/N) thought that the best thing to do was to take people out in a stealthy way, using Rose's rifle and smoke bombs as a far range weapons.
Walking over to a tiny balcony,
(Y/N)'s eyes scanned the city for any dead giveaways that would hint her not to go in a certain direction. A loud screech filled her ears, making her jump back in surprise, gun shots sounded a couple minutes after it, "Man, I wouldn't wanna be them right now - !" She said before an explosion cut her off.Pulling her rifle up to her eye, she looked through the scope, using it as makeshift binoculars, her eyes quickly gravitating to a girl, around fifteen years old, running down the street with a group of bandits following her. (Y/N) pressed her lips into a thin line before leaving the small room.
(Y/N) left the building she was in, ready to continue her journey to Trenton but she stopped just after she left the door, looking in the direction of the girl before looking in the direction that she had to travel.
The teenager sighed, looking up at the sky with closed eyes as she reloaded her rifle, "Why'd you have to give me a conscience, Rose?" She spoke out loud before running in the direction where she saw the girl, hoping that she would get there in time.
(Y/N) turned down the street, taking out a few infected in her way but she never stopped running. (Y/N) cursed as she came up to a destroyed part of the road, it was raised at least twenty feet in the air, "Shit. I gotta find another way." She said as she skidded to a stop in front of the huge drop off before turning away.
Running into an alleyway, (Y/N) jumped at the wall, running up it before launching herself onto a dumpster. Using her momentum to her advantage, (Y/N) pushed herself up the brick wall before back jumping towards a rusty ladder that was on the fire escape, gripping the first bar before starting to climb up to the roof. After finally getting up to the roof, (Y/N) looked towards the pile of black smoke that was rising in the sky, running towards it.
(Y/N) forced herself to run faster as she got closer to the edge of the building before jumping across, rolling on her shoulder as she landed before repeating the action until she heard the sound of panting coming from the alleyway in front of her.
