Once the day of the concert had arrived, I was ecstatic.
My mother being single and having to pay for almost everything, I was never able to afford other common luxuries, especially not concert tickets.
As I sat down my phone rang, I looked over to it, and it showed that Luke had sent me a text message.
Luke: Excited for today!! Can I come over to your house at 4?
Emily: I am too! 4 sounds fine :D
Luke: Awesome xx I'll see you later :)

At the house, I got ready , the only sound being ATL coming from Luke's house because he insisted that he should "be prepared" for any song that he might not know all the lyrics to.
I waited for it to be 4 o'clock, and a knock on the door signaled that Luke was finally here.
Mustering up a fake smile, I opened the door and greeted Luke.
He wore an All Time Low band tee under a red flannel, with a pair of ripped jeans and black Vans. I had to admit, he looked really hot.
He smirked at my appearance and I looked down at myself self-consciously.
I was wearing a different looking ATL band tee, along with a pair of ripped jeans, and black combat boots.
"Nice outfit, Emily! Wonder who you got from." He joked.
"Hmm, well I've been hanging around this idiot named Luke Hemmings lately, and he wears clothes just like these. You ever met him?" I asked sarcastically.
He laughed but went along with the joke. "Yeah, I think I have. Plus, I heard he's insanely hot, awesome, and talented."
"He's alright."
We both laughed at each other, but a honk from outside cut our amusement short.
"That's my mum. We better get going."
We both scrambled into the car in excitement, Luke and I fighting over who could ride shotgun.
He ended up beating me to it and I stuck my tongue out at him, warning him that I would be riding shotgun on the ride home.
He simply replied with, "Not unless I beat you to it, again."
The venue was in the city and by the time we had got there, there was already a long line forming at the door.
Before we exited the car, Liz warning us to take care of ourselves and have fun, and grabbed Luke's face to kiss his cheek.
He scrunched up his nose in embarrassment, we got out of the car, and once it was out of sight he turned to ask if he had a lipstick stain on his cheek (which he did.)
I rubbed it off of him. "Don't worry, you're still punk rock."
"Really?" He asked.
"No."
He pouted and I shook my head and turned toward the now moving line.
"So what'd you do all day?" He asked me.
"Not much, just hung out at home and watched a few movies. What about you?" I said.
"I just went and hung out with the boys." He replied referring to Ashton, Calum, and Michael.
We talked a little about their music and had some small talk here and there as we waited.
Once we were at the front, Luke got out tickets out of his pockets and handed them to the security to be checked.
We walked in and found our seats. They weren't too bad. They were on the floor, but not front row, which I didn't mind because we would be most likely be squashed like bugs up there.
I glanced around at everyone. Most people were wearing band tees as well and everyone was talking and laughing and some even shrieking. But it felt normal. No one was judging anyone, no one was fighting, no one was upset or crying (except for a few overwhelmed fans.)
It felt almost peaceful despite the intense atmosphere.
After waiting for almost half an hour, the room was suddenly thrust into darkness and whoops and cheers erupted around us.
Bright lights flashed on the stage and one by one, the band members of All Time Low walked on and I cheered along with the rest of the crowd.
The music started up and the first song that played was The Irony of Choking On A Lifesaver.
Luke and I sang along loudly to the music and a new kind of feeling settled on my chest.
I felt invincible. I felt happy. I felt free. Free from stress and problems and fear...from everything. I couldn't feel anything but utter joy in that moment.
I glanced up at Luke and he had a giant grin on his face. Seeing his smile triggered my own, and as the song slowly came to an end, he noticed me staring and winked.
My cheeks were hot and blushing, both from him and the adrenaline in my veins.
A few more songs and speeches were given and I felt that all my worries had vanished into the hot air around me.
All I did was silently wish that the night would last for as long as it ever could.
