APRIL:
TWO YEARS POST LEILA

Namjoon returned home from their Comeback press conference exhausted. It had been almost two years since they had so many back to back interviews and appearances. All of them had been discharged back in December and had gotten to spend Christmas with their families. That had been a small sense of normalcy for them. Since then they'd been working nonstop. Everything from new music, to new 'Run BTS', to magazine covers, and everything in between had taken up every moment of their time. He wouldn't change it for the world though. He had truly missed it.

Namjoon plucked a book from its shelf and sat on the couch to read for a couple minutes before turning in for the night. It was a book he had read four times over already which was probably why it was so easy to close it after reading the first page. Instead he picked up his phone to check his private accounts. He didn't post pictures but his family and close friends knew he was the one double tapping their photos and leaving them emojis under their posts.

He stopped on a post of one of his childhood friends. The picture was nothing more than a pair of hands interlocking fingers across a dinner table with a caption that read "To the woman whose held my heart for ten years, thank you for also holding my hand through it all."

It was cheesy but it was something he wished he had.  Namjoon didn't like jealousy but he couldn't help feel envious when he saw things like that. He was almost thirty years old and never so much as been in love.

After scrolling through for a couple minutes he pressed the search button and did what he always did. He typed her name into the space provided and waited for her profile picture to appear. It was always her smiling. Even when the picture would change she replaced it with another of her with a bright smile. Her profile was private, which meant that the only glimpses of her he got these days were in a picture smaller than his pinky nail but it'd suffice.

It hadn't been easy finding her on socials. All he had was a first name and the hotel she worked. So yes, he found the specific hotels Instagram page and went through the followers one by one. He found Liz instead though, but luckily her page was public. That's when he found her in Lizzy's friends list. Was it stalking? He would personally call it investigating.

He closed the app out and opened up his contacts and scrolled down until he found her name.

Leila

Namjoons finger hovered over the call button, wondering what would happen if he finally gave her a call. Could that still be her number? Would she answer? Would she even want speak to him or curse him out for lying to her in the first place. He had never intended to sweet talk her and then leave her high and dry. He very much did want to call her when he landed in Korea that night but his fear got the best of him.

"How was your night?" Yoongi asked as he took a seat beside Namjoon on the airplane. Namjoon could see the grin he was trying to hold back.

"C'mon man." Namjoon really didn't feel like having Yoongi poke fun at him this morning. He continued to read his book but Yoongi wasn't letting up. He smacked Namjoons thigh.

"No, I really want to know. You made it late to rehearsal. YOU. She must've done a hell of a number on you."

Namjoon couldn't help but smile at the thought of her. "Yeah, she's great. I'm supposed to call her tonight when I get home."
