They were still sitting on the same spot on the floor when Hyun-Joo's knock was heard.
"That's probably my sister," Namjoon said, briefly looking back at the doorway. He got up from the floor and extend his hand out for her to take. He raised his eyebrows and gave her a hopeful smile, waiting for her to take it. She did so without so much as a second thought and followed behind him as they walked out the room. She looked down at their still interlocked hands and smiled to herself.
We're holding hands now.
She almost couldn't believe it. It was like they were in an episode of the twilight zone. Just less than twenty-four hours ago they were down each other's throats and now they were entertaining the idea of being an item? That giddiness quickly turned into a sinking feeling of dread in the pit of her stomach.
This is terrifying.
Needless to say, Leila had never gone through this much with any man, let alone caught herself holding one's hand or falling for him.
Before Namjoon could open the door Leila dropped his hand and stepped beside him. He didn't seem to think much of it and opened the door.
Leila wasn't sure what was happening between them yet and she wouldn't know how to explain it to Hyun-Joo if she asked.
Hyun-Joo walked in with the happiest grin. She took a look at Leila in the robe and then looked at Namjoon. Both of them looked like they had been crying but if Hyun-Joo noticed she opted not to mention anything.
"Is she ready? I have so much planned. I even bought her a car seat!" Leila's heart sank at the sweet gesture and the knowledge that Hyun-Joo bought it to use for only one day because she thought Leila was leaving the next day.
"I have a car seat." Namjoon glowered at his sister causing her to narrow her eyes at him in return.
"Okay? And I wanted to get my own. Mind your business."
"And it's probably not as safe as mine so,"
There those two went again. Leila was starting to believe they were worse than Jungkook and Taehyung.
"She's still asleep," Leila informed her, cutting through their sibling rivalry. "And that was very thoughtful of you, Hyun-Joo. Thank you." Leila smacked Namjoon's arm while smiling sweetly at Hyun-Joo. Namjoon rubbed his arm and snickered.
"Yeah, at least someone's appreciative here!" She huffed pushing past her brother to take her shoes off. "Okay, well go get her, please! I don't have much time with her." Hyun-Joo's excitement was evident as she danced in place happily, her tight ponytail following her movements.
Namjoon caught Leila's eye. "Actually," he said slowly, trying to conceal his merriment. "They're staying a couple more days."
Hyun-Joos face lit up, even more, something Leila didn't think could be possible. "Really!?" Leila confirmed what Namjoon said and luckily Hyun-Joo didn't ask about the sudden change of heart. "That's so great! Mom and dad are going to be ecstatic!"
"I'll go get her." Leila excused herself and head back into the room to retrieve Mia and her overnight bag. Her hands were beginning to shake and her heart was in her throat over the thought of Mia being without her for one night but it was something she had to do. She had to try to trust his family. It was imperative to Mia's upbringing, especially now.
Hyun-Joo eyed Namjoon up and down and pursed her lips. "Why are they staying?" She inquired.
"Because Leila wants to." Namjoon walked in the direction of the kitchen and his sister followed.
