Mia went back to sleep after Namjoon left. Her fit and bad attitude came from lack of sleep. Leila still couldn't come around to getting some rest. Her mind was running a mile a minute even though her body was very much running on fumes.
Leila was so happy to see that Mia had taken to her father so easily. There's an old Spanish saying ; 'la sangre llama'. It means 'the blood calls' and Leila believed that's what made Mia adjust to Namjoon so easily. A part of her must've felt that connection with him.
Even though that brought her some sense of joy, what Leila really felt was sadness. Complete and utter sadness once again over a man she still didn't really know. Just as she had two years ago. Leila was never her best self during or immediately after him and she hated to admit that seeing him again resurfaced feelings she thought were long gone. The butterflies that laid dormant and eclipsed by her rage took flight once again at seeing him holding their daughter.
Why couldn't she move on from a stupid weekend that happened two years ago? Why couldn't she just let go? She didn't understand it, she wanted more than anything to not feel anything for him. She would've preferred indifference and for a couple weeks she thought she had actually achieved that. Seeing him proved otherwise.
To distract herself from her thoughts she decided to go through some of the bags Namjoon brought in. By the look of the bags alone, you knew they'd spent a pretty penny. They were huge, white bags with thick, gold ribbons for handles.
There were no names or indication of who they were from. Everything was just folded in shiny, pink tissue paper to separate the clothing. The first one was very simple but right up Leila's alley. It was a pair of black sweatpants and a white long sleeve shirt, with matching black and white high tops. Whoever chose this even added a pair of white tube socks. Leila couldn't help but be amused by the detail.
She didn't let Mia wear white often for obvious reasons but she didn't expect any of them to know that. Leila folded everything back up into the tissue paper and moved onto the next.
She found bright yellow sandals sitting atop a striped, rainbow colored shirt. Under that, a pair of bell bottomed, blue jeans. That one instantly lightened her mood because she could just picture Mia running around in the bright colors.
The next outfit was wrapped in alot more paper due to its size. It was beautiful but kind of flashy, definitely something Mia would wear to a wedding. Leila pulled out a white, lacey dress with a puffed out skirt. That one came with a pair of pink flats and a fluffy pink coat. She had no idea where Mia would even wear this to but she'd have to figure it out.
Then there was a black dress with a scalloped white collar and a pair of black boots. It sort of reminded her of Wednesday Addams but she loved it. It was hard to believe these men put so much effort into picking out these clothes.
She moved onto the next which consisted of a blue pleated skirt and a fuzzy, white, button up cardigan with blue flower details. A matching beret completed the outfit. Leila would surely be chasing Mia around to keep that on.
"Awww, who are you people!?" Leila pulled the outfit towards her chest, turning into a sap over all the cute clothes Mia was about to be dressed in.
There was also a pair of black jeans with a pink shirt that read 'I'm The Boss' and a black leather jacket. Whoever picked this one out was sassy and projecting onto Mia, she could tell.
The last outfit had Namjoon written all over it, literally. A pair of brown overalls with a shirt that read 'Daddy's Favorite Girl'. Leila ran her hands across the printed words. Whenever she went out to buy Mia clothes and saw the Daddy shirts on display, it always made her a little upset. They were just words, yes, but at the time she felt guilty that Mia would never be able to wear one.
