Kade {Chapter Fourteen}

i didn't want to go back to school.

i didn't want to face Kacie or the sweaty lacrosse player.

i didn't want to face anything.

Chelsea Smile screamed at me for the second time. I sighed and turned the alarm off.

I'd have to face Kacie sooner or later.

The bitter sweet cold memory of the kiss lingered in my mind. I urged the pain to go away.

Flashes of the kiss raced through my mind. I felt a breakdown coming on. I took three deep breaths but soon discovered that it wasn't doing anything. Running back into my bedroom, clutching my chest I ripped open the jewelry box and pulled out the sharpest razor I could find.

I didnt think twice before drawing one, two, three, and then four lines in my skin. Crimson red dots joined together and the skin around the wounds puffed up. I didn't feel anything. I was numb.

I walked into the bathroom not caring if blood dripped on the hallway floor. I rinsed the wounds and placed band-aids over them.

After hastily doing my makeup and slipping on my Pierce the Veil crew-neck. I was glad that it was winter and not the dead of summer. Long sleeves were okay to wear. I fixed my hair and pulled my bangs down a little. After brushing my teeth and hair spraying my hair in place, I heard my Father downstairs humming. The smell of coffee filled my nose. My stomach growled. I ignored it.

Today was punishment day. I didn't deserve to be healthy. I was stupid to believe that Kacie would ever like me... a girl. I ran downstairs and rushed out the door making sure it slammed behind me.

I didn't even stop to say goodbye. Its not like Father stopped to say goodbye when he left.

The car was cold and even with the heat on full-blast, I still shook with anxiety and hunger.

I will not eat. I will not eat. Will Not Eat.

today was going to be a long day.

"Why are you ignoring me." Kacie demanded, her face was tinged pink with oncoming anger. I gave her a long sideways stare before returning back to my book.

"Hey, Kacie.. Leave her alone. Cant you see she doesn't want to talk to you?" Rose said from behind me. Kacies face turned completely red and she spun around angrily.

"Shut the fuck up." She hissed. Rose straightened up fast. great.

"Oh really. Watch yourself you senseless bitch. Where were you when Jade was hurting because of you? She's my best friend and I love her more than anything... I swear to god I might have been forced to move away, but I know everything about her and I'm so close to hurting your pretty little face. You've hurt her and you know it, so you should be the one to shut the fuck up."

The air froze and the whole class had stopped talking. A few of the guys in the class gave an unnecessary "oooh". Kacie stared at Rose as if suddenly remembering that Rose was technically my best friend. Kacie turned back around and shut up for the rest of the period.

The teacher made Rose step out into the hallway for five minutes.

I smirked slightly at her freak out, but soon felt bad that she called Kacie a senseless bitch.

Rose was straight faced and calm when she came back into the classroom. She smirked at Kacie and winked at me as she passed us to her seat. I snorted as a guy turned around to flirt with Rose.

Poor guy doesn't know she doesn't really like boys.

She rolled her eyes and turned to compliment a girl sitting next to her. The girl smiled and blushed a little before licking her lips and turning back to her work. Rose smirked at the guy. His jaw dropped disappointingly. I let out a small laugh as the bell rang.

I was headed toward my locker when someone pushed me against the wall.

That someone was Kacie.

I rubbed my side annoyingly and pushed her away. The bell signaled the beginning of lunch. People passed us looking at us questioningly, but even they left after a few seconds of staring.

"Leave me alone." I said softly. I cursed at myself, that was supposed to come out harsher.

"No. I can't. That's the thing Jade, I cant." She ran a hand through her blonde hair and sighed.

"Sure, that's totally why you kiss me and then go out with whats-his-face." I said a little more angrily. She sighed and looked down. She seemed embarrassed

"I wanted to feel normal. I didn't know what to feel okay." She said. I was hurt and confused and I didn't know who or what to believe.

I used both of my hands to shove her off of me this time.

As much as it hurt to see that I hurt her I spat my anger at her.

"Fuck off Kacie"

I didn't even turn around to see her face. I just walked away.
