✞Jade✞

I was being threatened by a smelly male lacrosse player.

"It's fucking obvious you like her, I dare you to make a move bitch. She's mine." His foul breath caused me to gag.

"You need a breath mint." I coughed and covered my nose. His fierce glare caused me to laugh. He really did have bad breath

"Lesbo." He sneered before storming off. His bad odor followed him, thankfully.

I frowned. Was I gay? No. I still liked guys, bisexual.

"Bisexual." I tried the word. It rolled off of my tongue like it was meant to be said. I smiled and grabbed my bag.

"Jay!" I hear behind me. Fuckin shit.

I stop walking and wait for her to catch up.

She's shaking in excitement.

"Gueeeeeeessss what??" She asks, her phone and an espresso at her side. I raise my eyebrows.

"What?" Cautious now Jade, she's sugar high, don't scare her with harsh tones.

"I know something you don't!!" She yells. This was the most we talked since I burned the fucking Ouija board. Her chipped nail polish is fixed up and she seems to have forgotten about the whole experience.

"I got us in to see a gig!" Her excited-ness was scaring me.

"To see who?" She held up two crumpled tickets.

"You know that uhm possibly gay kid in band?" She quizzes.

"Eriot?" I ask, not sure if I was pronouncing his awkward name right.

"Yes! He was passing out free tickets, and I got two! We're going!"

So this was what my life was like, I was going to a gig with Kacie wether I wanted to or not. I didn't really mind though.

"I already called your mom so you're good."

I couldn't even protest.

The gig was good. The Eriot kid played the guitar pretty good, and the lead singer was cute. Kacie was still gushing at his dimples. I rolled my eyes. Her giggles on the way to my house distracted me multiple times.

I made the mistake of asking her to stop giggling. I told her it was distracting me.

"Do I distract you?" She asked, I wanted to say something but the road was suddenly very interesting. Her vibrant blue eyes caused my mind to go blank. I shrugged.

"Oohh" She mused. "I see."

What do you see? I wondered. She smiled to herself and played with her blonde hair.

I parked in my driveway and got out of the car.

She got out and walked me to my home.

I unlocked the door and turned toward her. Ready to say goodbye.

Her smile caught me off guard.

"Oh yea, I defiantly see now."

"I think you're tired Kacie, go home." I laughed. I wanted her to go away so I could crawl into a ball and die. I shouldn't have said anything about her giggle. Dammit.

"You distract me too sometimes." She murmured.

Not as much as you dis- wait what?!

My mouth hung open. She smiled and gave me a hug.

"Love ya! Bye.... Bestie!" She yelled before jumping in her car and driving off.

My mouth was still hanging open five minutes later as I was stripping out of my day clothes.

What in the hell did she mean?

Did she like me too?

No. She couldn't.

I pulled on my worn oversized night shirt and climbed into bed.

I'd ask her about it later.... My brain needed a break.

My erratic heartbeat put me to sleep that night.
