Chapter 03-Flashback From The Past

I was laying on a bed at aunt's place when my surrounding started becoming clear to me little by little.It took me a while to remember what was happening before I fell on the floor after feeling dizzy.

MY MOM...SHE HAS LEFT ME...

I was still doubting myself whether I misunderstood it when some familiar voice crossed my mind.I realised that was my aunts',but however she wasn't talking to me.I tried opening my eyes little by little and saw the person who was standing infront of the closed door facing towards her.His face gave out the concerned look and then I was reminded that he was the person who was talking with my aunt when I arrived from school earlier.I wanted to jump off from my bed and run towards my mom when they both suddenly started talking about me.So I decided to remain silent and listen to them because a part of me was curious to know what this person with many guards had to do with our family.

Aunt:But this all happened because of your fault Mr.Kim and at least if you sent the usual servant to the market,this wouldn't have happened.

 Mr.Kim:I already told you that it wasn't my fault of sending her there and even you know that I  don't want to see anything bad happening to her and that's why I wanted Aria and Ashley to live near my place.

Aunt:Whatever,they all don't matter here and she's gone,leaving this child behind and you have to take the responsibility as her father now because you kept ignoring them for the past 12 years while Aria was here.

Mr.Kim:Please try to understand my situation Kathy.I know that it's difficult for you as well since Aria was your one and only sister,but I can't take Ashley with me though she's my daughter and even you know how it'll affect our business and family matter.

Aunt:Okay fine,I'll keep her till she completes her Secondary school then,make sure to get things settled within four years ahead.So she can start fresh from college years and she'll be able to understand all that has happened.

Mr.Kim:Thanks a lot Kathy.I'll definitely get things done by then.I'll send some money as I used to do since then so you don't have to worry about expenses and contact me if anything urgent come up.

I was unable to catchup a lot from their conversation,but it was quite clear that this person,Mr.Kim, who have been talking with my aunt was my father.I didn't want to go further into that because all I wanted was to see my mom,cause I still had a little hope that she was alive.It was at the same time,the person who my aunt referred as Mr.Kim noticed me and gave his light smile with a kind look and left the room.My aunt came to me and asked me how I felt but I ran off to the living room leaving her unanswered.

She was there,my mom was there in the living room but that wasn't what I expected to see.She was standing looking at me like she used to do.She was laying still,inside of the opened coffin,instead of that exhausted look she held on other days,she was resting so peacefully,that was the first time I saw her filled with that much calmness.Her dark brown eyes were no more to be seen,they were shut closed.And it was all clear,that she was dead,she has left,without even saying goodbye to me...

As time passed,I realised that I had to face it all alone and go ahead.I could continue learning at the same school where I used to go before and I was able to understand all that has happened with time.I was taken with my aunt to their place and I was living with my cousins until I finished Secondary school years.They were always beside me whenever I remembered my mom and aunt did her best to not make me feel ill-treated.

Aunt was unaware that I overheard their conversation that day,she never mentioned about it so I didn't want to go further into it.However,by then I knew that Mr.Kim was my real father,and my mom has been an assistant on some of his business matter.She has been serving under him for few years and that unfortunate day,my mom has went to the market as the driver wasn't there and met with an accident on her way back to Mr.Kim's place.That's how it all has happened but even after understanding them all,I kept quiet since we had no problems as Mr.Kim always took care of them and we all were able to live a peaceful life thanks to them.

Later,when I turned 17 and completed my secondary school studies,my aunt wanted me to move with Mr.Kim to his place and said that he'll look after me as his own child.I didn't want to leave aunt and my cousins but I didn't want to be a burden to them anymore.I was aware that my father held a higher ranking at his workplace which was Quantum Comapny Holders and when I was about 15,the news that Mr.Kim has got engaged secretly went viral,which was already a plan of Mr.Kim to hide my identityto the world. Though I agreed on leaving with my father,within few days he moved to a new house with me and his wife so we lived quite far away from my aunt's place. After the vaccations,it was decided to send me to a college where the majority of students from rich families attended.I was told to pretend as the child of my father and step-mom but that made me upset because I had to leave out the traces of mom behind.

"Ashley,are you sleeping leisurely when there's tons of work out here.Come out soon and start cleaning before my temper rise...I think you should have realized by now that if it happened,you'll get work to do the whole night..."

I came back to my senses when the voice I despised the most started nagging at me outside the door.It was all fine during the first days,but step-mom started being rude to me when she realized that my father was nice to me.There were even times she yelled at my father for all the comfort I had,living at that house with them.By now I was almost similar to Cinderella,the girl who was in that film which I watched many times when I was a kid.However,I stood up and changed my clothes to go to downstairs,knowing that the situation's going to be much worse if I didn't do so.
